I'll be heading to the game this weekend and was wondering if anyone has advice on the new security measures for entering Lambeau.

We are having a huge tailgate party in the lot so I will be able to gauge the lines and how slow/fast they are moving, but I want to be in the stadium for introductions.

Anyone have experience this season on when to hop in line or how long the new process takes?

I went to the Denver game. The lines were back up down the steps in front of the statues of Lombardi & Lambeau. But once they opened in the gates it only took ~15 minutes to get it. It wasn't bad at all, much quicker than I expected

What time was this at?

I read that during the Denver game people were in line for almost an hour.

I was in line for less than 10 minutes about 1:50 PM.

M.D. Jennings' girlfriend was right behind us in line. She asked if she was in the right line. "My fiance is a Packer player, #43, he told me just to show up and I'd figure it out." She had some kind of special family member pass for the game.

Plan on leaving the tailgater early. At the denver game, I was in line at the onieda gate for about 45 minutes before they finally stopped their wand seaches. Once they opened it up, it was a mad rush and we got to our seats just in time for kickoff.

Very good, thanks. I want to be in the bowl for the introductions and flyover (I usually am but have not dealt with this new security thing yet). I certainly don't want to be waiting impatiently outside the gate waiting to get groped by Officer Barney during kickoff.

Based on the Denver game, it all depends on where you try to go in. The Oneida Street side was backed up out to Oneida street. Just give yourself plenty of time i.e. get in line 1 hour before kickoff. If they get things straightened out, a half hour before kickoff is generally ok. It is a new process and it definitely shows.
Hmmm...I wonder if different security procedures are in place at different stadiums? At the Atlanta game last night, the lines were long but flowed very quickly. Maybe 5 minutes once we got in line, and that was roughly about 30 minutes or so before kickoff.
No wands that I saw; just a cursory pat-down under the arms and down the legs. I was wearing a hat, and was aked to tip it for the screener, and that was that.
from what I know the security procedures at each stadium are up to the team/stadium owner. The NFL recommended wanding to all teams prior to the season but they cannot demand or enforce it. Once the lone idiot in dallass tazed somebody the GBP went all hog and started wanding (without very much thought apparently). Sure as hell hope they either saw the error of their ways or figured out something different for this weekend's game as I'll be there too. For the past 15 years or so I've had a routine of slipping into the stadium 5 or 10 minutes before the game that has worked perfectly. I'm sure that's all screwed to pieces now...
Immediately following the Denver game the GBPD said they would re-assess the screening policy. They claimed they learned from the Denver game.

By the time I got in they had long since stopped wanding people.

My guess is next game will be back to the old quick pat downs.

I think the Packers are ready to trust the fans not to bring in any WMD's.
Fans need to arrive early

“There were fans that did not make it inside for kickoff at the last game, so we’re encouraging all fans to plan accordingly and arrive early at the gates,” said Doug Collins, Packers director of security/risk management. “Our number one goal on game day is the safety of all guests. Wanding is now a permanent part of our security process and fans need to be prepared for a longer wait to enter the stadium than in previous years.

Fan security tips for game day:
  • Check your ticket and enter at the assigned gate (each ticket provides an entry gate that is closest to your seat).
  • Bring no or minimal carry-ins (small purse, camera bag, etc.) to minimize wait time.
  • Plan ahead and allow additional time for the screening process.
  • Review the wanding video here so you know what to expect continue
Don't worry folks, I'm sure they'll have the nekkid scanners next year to hurry things up. Time is merely the thing that life is made of and they sure don't care about wasting yours. If you'd like to give the people that are foisting this upon you a piece of your mind the number for the main switchboard at Lambeau is 920-569-7500.

Nightmares played out for thousands of Packers fans two weeks ago. With the team implementing new security measures, lines at Lambeau Field's entry gates stretched for yards.

So on Tuesday, the Packers and the Green Bay Police Department announced they have made adjustments to the new enhanced screening.

The metal-detecting wands will continue to be used, but starting this weekend against St. Louis there will be more screening lines, more screening officers and a "streamlined" screening process.

"Our main objective is the safety of our fans," Doug Collins, the team's director of security/risk management, said in a release. "We feel confident these adjustments will result in a better entry process and continue to ask fans for their cooperation in entering the stadium earlier than in the past."
Forcing people to enter the stadium earlier than they normally would is brilliant.

More concession sales. Which the Packers don't have to share with anyone.

They don't make any money on tailgating, do they?

Literally or figuratively?

If he could do that literally he'd never leave the house.
I began my walk into the Oneida gate at 11:52 - there were no lines at all! I was in Lambeau at 11:54. Had to wait in line for a beer and was in my seat for the national anthem. It was probably a combination of both but it appears they fixed the security issue or was it the cooperation of the fans? Either way, I was happy.
The Oneida gate had quite a few more lines and security checkers than in previous years. About 10:30 there were quite a few people lined up. Most people must have decided to trek in earlier than usual.
I got in line at the Oneida entrance at 11:10 and got in the stadium at 11:40. They had significantly more wands and security pushing people through, but I think the fear that it would take forever prompted everyone to get in early. So, once it got closer to kick-off the lines were really short and fast because everyone was already in.
