and the call conversation went something like:
"Nice job during your short employment Lance and good luck doing the High School game next week ... you ever step foot in Green Bay and these fans/owners will beat you to a pulp, especially that guy that runs X4 website".

Lance's Daughter runs to grab the phone and picks it up "Hello"
Lance grabs the phone and tries to pull it away from her. Fails, but does get both hands on the phone. Lance then claims simultaneous possession and says that he gets to talk to whoever is on the other side. After a brief argument Lance's wife rules in his favor.
McCarthy hears all of this on the phone and now understands where Lance gets it from and instead of tearing into him as he had planned, instead says "Good luck, you'll need it."

Yes but this was after 300 phone calls at 2AM over the course of 3 days asking him if his fridge was running.
