Former Green Bay Packers player and sports analyst Larry McCarren was recognized with Bart and Cherry Starr Award on Aug. 29 in Lambeau Field Atrium during the 2024 Packers Hall of Fame Induction Banquet. The award recognizes a person who has “exemplified outstanding character and leadership in their field of expertise, while consistently demonstrating a personal conviction and commitment to the Green Bay Packers.” Inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 1992, he played in 162 consecutive games – the sixth-longest streak in team history – helping him earn the nickname “Rock.” In his second career, McCarren has been a broadcast journalist for over 35 years. He now provides analysis and commentary for the Packers Radio Network. Sam Seale was also presented with the Bob Harlan Leadership Award. More coverage of the event in the Sept. 6 edition and in the September edition of Packerland. Tori Wittenbrock photo.
