I predict pain
Steelers will tenderize them tonight, Packers will finish them off on Sunday
I predict more than 1 bad call from the ref's...
48-12 Packers Wallace passes for last td.
Who Dey think gonna beat them Bengals? The Packers, that's who!
Packers are currently 1 point favorites.
Pack - 30
Bengals - 27
AFC ain't ****
31-23 Packers.
The Bengalies aint the Skins, they will fight tooth and claw for four quarters in their home cage, since they play on a short week the Pack will win 28-23.
I will wait to watch them play tonight before making any decisions.
We are 1 point underdogs. Interesting.
Here's a breakdown on the Bengals defensive tendencies: 4-3 defense is base
From Packer-Doppler
Good stuff.
Zimmer is out of his mind if he does this Sunday:
No matter what personnel the offense puts on the field, Zimmer has two major tendencies. First, he likes to play tight man-to-man coverage with his defensive backs.
See the Texans game last year for an example. IIRC, no one has even tried to play exclusive man-press on GB since that game, and for good reason.
This could be trouble, though:
Second, when he brings pressure, he likes to bring it up the middle with his linebackers.
That probably means that Kuhn needs to be ready to go, as he'll be the guy taking a beating behind EDS. Otherwise you may see more Quarless in the backfield to counter that middle blitz.
Interesting chess match, and good article.
Pack - 31
Bungles - 17
tough one to call. I dont want to see another Boldin performance with AJGreen
Cincy looked bad last night IMO against a terrible Steelers team. Pitt shouldve had 2 more tds, but it was a division rivalry
Bengals lead all time series 6-5 and have won the last 2. Last meeting was a 31-24 win in GB in 2009. That was the game OchoCinco said he would do a Lambeau Leap after scoring. He did score but faked the leap. WE recovered an onside kick but Jennings was called for a false start which ended the game at the Cincy 10.
I think a def stand holds them off 24-20 Pack
" I dont want to see another Boldin performance with AJGreen"
I'm more worried about how our LB's and S's will matchup with their TE's.
AJ Green gets "his" with two, long, first-half TDs against the safeties in zone, Capers adjusts by Tramon or Shields matching up on him whichever side he starts on holding him to a very quiet second half.
Starks plays well again, racking up 90 yards and a score, while Rodgers throws two TDs. The Packers get in a little trickery and score on a fake punt as well as get a Return TD.
Packers 38 - Bengals 27
Tough game to call. We lose a tough one to SF despite almost being doubled up on TOP, and then SF gets totally overwhelmed in Seattle. We whomp on Washington, which also lost badly to Philly which lost to the Chargers. So, are we really any good?
Cincy loses to the Bears, then gets by a really bad Steelers team. Is Cincy good, bad, average?
In the end, it's 30-24 GB, provided we button down the middle of the field on defense.
Tough game to call.
Not really.
The Packers are the vastly superior team right now and will be happy to prove that during the 2nd half of Sunday's contest
Cincy probably should have beaten the Bears but had some dumb mistakes near the end that cost them the game.
Dalton hasn't looked particularly good so far this season, but I agree with some of the comments that their TEs and AJ Green are a real concern given how the Packers have looked covering the middle of the field.
The other factor is that their front seven is pretty damn good and very stout up the middle and that's where our OL has struggled.
Should be a good game but it's all dependent on how well the OL plays. If they give Rodgers time I think he can make some big plays against a secondary that plays a lot of man coverage. If the Bengals can pressure Rodgers consistently I think they can and will beat GB.
I think this is a "pick em" game so I'm being a homer
Packers 24 Bengals 20
Green Bay is an impossible match for Cincy. Their linebackers and D-Backs are no match for AR and our Receivers. MM will protect AR. On D the Packers speed and new found run D will cause havoc for Dalton. Green Bay wins this one 31-13.
GB 41
CIN 24
The biggest issue is Geno Atkins vs. EDS. That is a mismatch of epic proportions. Hopefully they double him all game long with TJ Lang and/or Sitton
In Game 1 vs. Niners I was thinking blowout....(nope, Thought Burnett would play though)
In Game 2 vs. Redskins I thought blowout....(yup)
In Game 3 vs. Bengals......
Guess I just have G&G goggles on....
I'd love to believe in the Packer defense, but until they can clean up the leaky secondary I just can't do it. Nevertheless, I'm going with a Packer victory by way of the shootout. The well-oiled machine that is the Packer offense rolls on.
Packers 38
Bengals 31
Can't wait to watch Hawk try to touch, let alone tackle, Giovani Bernard.
23-20 Packers.
Although the beast known as the Packers Offense looks to be alive and well, I'm also feeling that the defensive secondary is shaky, at best. Bernard showed enough against Pittsburgh to be able to distract the Packers to where Dalton will get some good looks and have some success. Bengals 27 Packers 24, at the wire.
Bengals who did not practice today:
CB - Dre Kirkpatrick - hammy (must have done his off-season work with the Packers staff)
CB - Adam Jones - unknown
CB - Brandon Ghee - consussion (did not play vs PIT)
G - Mike Pollak - knee (did not play vs PIT)
Remember when cornerback was a mountain of depth for the Bengals? On Wednesday three of their five corners on the week's depth chart didn't practice with Brandon Ghee (concussion) continuing to be out and Dre Kirkpatrick shelved with the hamstring issue that took him out of Monday night's fourth quarter. Plus, third corner Adam Jones, who played 49 of Monday's 55 snaps, was also out with an unknown malady.
He got caught in the rain.
He makes it rain.
Green Bay 28 V Bengals 20
Can CIN banged up secondary hang with Packers WRs?
âThey broke a lot of tackles last week. Theyâre not a big, deep-throwing team, but they throw it short and catch it and run like crazy,â (CIN DC Mike) Zimmer said. âThe receivers all do a great job blocking. They all run very precise routes.â
DB Leon Hall on Rodgers:
âYou see it week in and week out. Heâs got a strong arm. He runs really well and throws it well on the run. When heâs running with the ball heâs probably more accurate than he is standing in the pocket,â Hall said.âHe can throw a 60-yard dart down the field going to his left. The guy is pretty amazing, especially with some of the throws he makes. I donât see that anywhere else in the NFL.â
Cinn has put together a very nice team, this well may be the team we play again at MetLife stadium on Feb 2.
my guess a tight one
23 Cinn
24 GB
Still trying to figure out why many fans/media are so high on this bengals squad...
Was it the 4 straight playoff losses ? Was it scoring 13 freaking points in the playoffs vs the Texans ( a team the Packers put up 42 on in their home dome)
Perhaps it was their amazing run through 2-14 KC, inept San Diego, 4-12 Oakland and 4-12 Philly last season ? Or maybe it was the loss to the ****ing Browns.
http://www.pro-football-refere...m/teams/cin/2012.htm
I don't see a signature win, I don't see a playoff win, I don't see them doing jack diddly squat. Yet fans and media have them in the Super Bowl ? WOW
Last game of the season, they barely squeaked by the Ravens who were resting their starters , played some guy named Tyrod Taylor at QB and still put up over 200 yards rushing on the vaunted Bengals defense.
http://www.pro-football-refere...res/201212300cin.htm
In the opener, when the Ravens were at full strength, they destroyed Cin 44-13.
The bengals are a 9-7 / 10-6 team, one & done in the playoffs. What is it that y'all are seeing to put them in this lofty perch of being a Super Bowl contender ?
They lost to the ****ing bears in the opener for cripes sake...
The AFC is so crappy that the Bengals "stand out" as one of the "elite" teams in that conference. It's basically the Broncos and a whole lot of nothing in that conference. Texans and the beat up Ravens aren't scaring anybody, and Tom Tom doesn't have any weapons in New England
I hear ya, Satori, loud and clear. Don't get it either... and hope it stays that way through Sunday.
Still trying to figure out why many fans/media are so high on this bengals squad...
It's the Hard Knocks factor. Seems like which ever team they highlight becomes the media & fan darlings.
