I know it's early, but we're on a short week and like the players we need to adjust. Rodgers and the O struggle, but MM mixes some adept screens and short passes in, and the D stifles Orton early on. 10-3 at the half, 20-13 is the final. More a gut it out win than a statistical big play feast. Masthay has to punt five times and waves himself off the field with a sore hip after the last one. McCarthy goes for it on fourth down every time for the rest of the game and we don't need a punter. He hits the waiver wire Monday.

I see what you did there, wasnt that the score the last time we played there?

IIRC, that was the last straw with Bert. he was in stat padding mode , checked out of a 1st and goal and threw an INT that was returned for a TD.

we lost to a JP Losman squad and i believe are still winless in Buffalo??? ......   yep 0-5

I can see this being one of those grind out type of games. The Bills defense are gonna come out swinging thus we will see #8 out there on several occasions. It may take till late in the 3rd or early 4th quarter to start pulling away and winning by 14 or so points. Maybe one of those 60+ yard pass plays to Jordy  in the 4th quarter will be the backbreaker. And then a steady flow of Lacy/Starks to bleed out the clock in the end.

vs a stout front four, MM has previously used a strategery of spread 'em out wide in the passing game and throw quick hitters to limit the pass rush.

Attack the perimeter in the run game.  Tire out the DL with outside stretch plays to get the beef on the hoof and help the OL. This game it may actually be wiser to use Starks 1st and Lacy 2nd.

Starks will be bringing it for his Buffalo buddies.

We'll see what happens on Sunday

Ha!

Packers have never won in Buffalo, last time they played there this happened.

"In 2006, the Bills won in Buffalo despite being outgained 427-184. They won in large part due to big plays from the Buffalo defense and special teams."

We have yet to win at the Bills. And this will be no different. Lacy cannot play well and Starks is not up to the task. Barrington looks lost and we get run over by a "Brad Hoover" type back (see Fred Jackson). Shields cannot (re)cover and House is out. Hawk trails Chandler who catches for a season high game. AR has two interceptions due to a tipped ball and because Adams runs the wrong route. We lose in a low scoring game due to poor secondary and our poor linebacker defense... and the calls for Capers to get fired get louder.

P.S. My wife's nephew is one of the guys holding the sticks at the sidelines. He is a Buffalo fan.

Could go two ways IMO:

GB's OLine shows up and keeps their DL at bay, Rodgers gets the time he needs to hit the big plays. Kyle Orton can't keep up except in garbage time.

Packers 42

Bills 20

-OR-

This game is reminiscent of the Jets game in 2010, all defense. The Bills keep the Packers O in front of them leading to a lot of long slow drives and a lot of FG's. Meanwhile the Bills can't get in a rhythm on offense.

most likely the second, and I will happily take the W.
