Tight first half as Cards are a bit off as teams coming off a bye typically are. Pack leads 10-7 at the half as we have two long drives with a Lacey TD and a 40-yard field goal by Crosby. They get a blown coverage TD pass.

We get the second half kickoff and run seven minutes off the clock before Kuhn takes a short pass into the end zone. Randall picks Palmer and we get a field goal to go up 20-7. Cards rally and make it close but we hang on, winning 23-17 and stopping one final drive by Palmer with a sack in the red zone. Perry lights them up--he's playing for a contract we won't be able to afford next year.

This one is going to be way closer than anyone in the media and the Cardinals team expects.  I think the Pack leads most of the way but a terrible pass interference call late in the game leads to a Cardinals FG with 3 seconds left on the clock.

Cardinals 23-Packers 20

It will be a close game. It wouldn't shock me to see Green Bay win, but I think the bye makes a difference and the Cardinals break open a one score game with under 5 minutes to go ahead 27-17. Packers may get a score in the last minute to set up an onside kick try, so I'll go Cardinals 27, Packers 24.

27-24 good guys on a 27-yard Mason Crosby FG with :17 left. Vikings suck.

The curse of Cincinnati follows Carson leading to 3 picks. Packers remember Ariens statements about bruised asses. Janis makes 1 big play setting up TD. Defense scores a TD and sets up a short field for 2 FG's. Rodgers goes to fast tempo game and Mastay punts well keeping AZ on a long field all day.

GB 27 AZ 13

"Janis makes 1 big play setting up TD"

As a gunner on ST.  There's been several times this year where the punt returner doesn't call a fair catch only to get hit by Janis! the instant the catch is made.  He's due to force a fumble, this is the week.

Now you're pointing in the right direction!

I had a really good feeling that the Pack was going to turn it around and play well at Washington.  Kind of feel that way, to a bit lesser extent this time as well.  I think it all comes down to the health/play of our secondary this week.  I think it's a game decided by a field goal, hopefully in the Packers favor.  Would be sweet to host Seattle in the NFCCG the following week.

I've seen a few posts on forums this week comparing this game to 2010 Atlanta playoff game and to the 2009 AZ playoff game and aptly so.
But I feel this season resembles the 2007 Giants more than 2009 or 2010 packers.
A strong pass rush generated by rushing 4 and a stable of guys who are healthy and all really getting after the QB as of late.  The Giants won the SB that year mostly because of their pass rushing abilities.  No one gave the Giants a chance that post season, I believe we were favored by 7 in the NFC title game.
This may be the best pass rush this team has had since Reggie years (although 2009 and 2010 were pretty good too)

We will be playing the best offense in the league but they're coming off of a huge loss and a week off to think about that loss and they feel they can beat the Packers as easily as they did last time.  AZ is also down a couple of pass rushers which should only help our O line keep Rodgers clean.

Confidence is a HUGE thing in the playoffs and the Packers have regained a lot of confidence after their win in DC.  I have to think that AZ lost a little of theirs after being steam rolled by the seahawks at home.

But like that 2007 Giants team showed, the media doesn't have to be in love with you to win the SB.  You don't have to have a great regular season to win the SB.  A team only has to win 3-4 games in the playoffs to be SB champion and this Packers team has handily won one of them.

The hottest team in January wins the SB and so far the Packers are 1-0 and the Cardinals are 0-0.

I'm excited for the opportunity to watch the Packers try for number 5 (14) and I'm very encouraged after last weeks game that we could be 2-0 in this years playoffs late Saturday evening.

We can do this so GO you Packers GO!!!

We need to be able to stay in a balanced offensive set.  I know master of the obvious.  I don't think our D, will give up multiple scores, so we just need to stay with them.  In the 4th quarter our pedigree will step up on D, to seal the deal.

This game will be closer than the one 3 weeks ago no doubt.

I see the D playing pretty well and holding the high powered Cards offense to 24 points. Unfortunately, I don't believe the offense can keep up its end of the bargain. 24-16 Cards.

We're playing with confidence, momentum, and health.  Perhaps most important, we also have a significant edge in playoff experience.

We'll likely have our starting tackles out there, as well as our best corner.  This isn't the same team that got beat a few weeks ago by the Cardinals.  The Cardinals are in for a surprise.

Rodgers gets hot, the running game gets going, and the defense shows that when it is at full strength, it is a very good - if not great - unit.

Packers 31, Cardinals 20

The player that scares me the most in tomorrows game is David Johnson.  He has emerged as a bigger version of Marshal Faulk and is a big part of the offense.  The must must must limit the explosive plays that be can present (40+ yards).

Defense must continue to pressure QB, cause turnover etc.

If the above things do not happen, Cards 36 Pack 24

If they execute, 31-27 Pack wins

In the wk 16 game the score was 0-0 at the end of the 1st qtr. Raji was concussed on the last play of the 1st qtr. They must get presser with 4 to give the back end a chance.

Shields and Rollins are critical in defending their receivers.  David Johnson is the X factor.  You put a banger at ILB next to CM and lose cover ability vs. 4 WR.  Put a cover ILB in and you lose anchor vs. the run.  Worth keeping a close eye on.  This is where an important game within the game will be won/lost.

I had Julio for a WR this year in fantasy...so that qualifies me as offensive expert right?

But seriously I enjoyed watching how they used him in bunch formations. Out of the slot they would sometimes drag him back across the field...behind the line of scrimmage. He scored at the goal line a couple times like this.

It was a pure speed play...outrun his man to the other sideline and release it quick...nothing more than pitch and catch.

Why in the hell we can't do this with Janis is just beyond me. It's safe, it's easy...worst case scenario it's your first read.

Come on MM...use all the weapons in your quiver this week.

Speed kills...we have some...Use it !
