No slow start for the Pack. They win the toss, defer the kickoff, hold the Eagles to a three-and-out and complete a short drive for a TD to Driver. Woodson blitzes a lot and is athletic enough to mess up Vick, and Shields gets a first half INT that leads to a field goal. 13-0 Packers at the half.

Pack grinds it out more in the second half, Vick has a long TD pass to Jackson, but is sacked seven times, three by CMIII and the pack wins 23-10.

Dom goes same strategy as last week - contain Vick and make him beat you. Vick's lack of accuracy and ability to be rattled is on full display again.
Vick leaves in the 1st half after re-hurting his booboo.
Per usual, turnovers determine the outcome.

If GBP has at least 2 INTs, this one becomes a laugher.
If Vick rushes for more than 60 yards, this will be a tight game.
The defense has been solid and consistent all year and my only question is which offense will show up- the pathetic one in the game at Detroit or the one against the Giants that appeared able to score at will?

I'm going with the latter against an Eagle defense that isn't nearly as good as years past. AR comes up big and Starks has a solid game.

Pack 31
Eagles 17

Packers 35, Eagles 17 (7 garbage points at the end of the 4th quarter).

Really?

You said the season ended after the Detroit game. Why are you here?

I'll be anxious to see your whiny posts in the game thread as the Packers throttle the Eagles.

The Packers are done. They look like whipped dogs out there, and have all day. It's going to take a miracle to get into the playoffs now.
I'm too nervous for predictions. I'm going with statistics:

Philly's offense averages 27.4 ppg, vs. Green Bay's 24.2 ppg.

Philly's defense gave up 23.6 ppg this year, while GB's defense gave up only 15.00 ppg.

By a complicated method (averaging offenses against defenses ), the final score has already been determined to be GB 23.9, Philly 21.2.

GB 24
Philly 21

I'm not buying that Vick is 100%. That said he's going to give 110% of whatever it is that he has left. I have a lot of confidence in the Packers to win this game but Vick is a lot like Barry Sanders in that you never know when he's going to turn on the magic. I think Asante Samuels is dangerous on defense, too. Rodgers threw away from him the first game. I think he'll do the same again. Desean Jackson is every bit as scary as Hester. The Eagles have a ton of playmakers and a ton of speed.

I really want our defense out there first to set the tone and calm the noise down. The crowd has to start off quiet if the Eagles are on offense and if things go poorly it knocks the wind out of the sails a bit. If the Packers start out on offense it's an opportunity for the Eagles to stack successes and get a quick jump on the game.

Someone somewhere said the talent in this game makes it as good as an NFC Championship game and I tend to agree.

It's not fair but this is a huge game for Rodgers' career. MM said it today on Sirius and I'm paraphrasing here:
quote:
He's set the standard for what he is able to do in this league. He's thrown for 4,000 yards and done everything I've asked of him. The only thing left is for him to perform to his standard and win championships.
I badly want Aaron to get that first playoff win monkey off his back. Those things, fair or unfair, have a way of growing and becoming the theme of a season. He's got the defense, he's got the receivers, he's got the skills. It's time to perform on the biggest stage. Regular season stats are wonderful but the playoffs are where Hall of Fame careers have their merits sorted out. If Aaron just plays to his standard we're in fine shape, if he has another level in him we'll wipe them off the field.

He's 0-1 having put up what? 45 points in his loss.

Small monkey.

Yep. He nearly brought his team back to win against the Cards- 420 yds 4 TD's. He already has the ability to show up on the big stage.
I predict none of these guys will play this Sunday
