Despite an heroic effort we have a let down. Sadly we lose our first game at home. As AR says he is "one game away from getting thrown into the trash". They have a great game plan and Shields cannot play and we cannot stop a determined Matty Ice and his WR's. We end up trying to guess "where's Julio". Hester runs all over our ST's. Our run defense cannot stop Jackson and we fall in a close one and hope that we can possibly make the playoffs on the road.

Source close to Brett Favre says Favre is indeed flying to Green Bay as we speak. Also, Bart Starr's son Bart Jr. is aboard plane.

Source was unsure whether Packers  QB Bart Starr is also on the flight. But, the flight did originate in Birmingham, AL.

Along with Favre is Bart Starr Jr. and at least 2 others. The traveling party originated in Birmingham and stopped in Hattiesburg Per source

Source: Brett Favre returns to Green Bay to pay tribute to Hall of Famer Bart Starr at luncheon today. No plans yet to attend MNF game.

Favre & Bart Starr Jr. will attend event at Favre’s Steakhouse. Starr still recovering from stroke. Bart co-founded Rawhide Boys Ranch

Slurp, slurp, slurp...  Gruden will be beside himself.

This game will be decided in Q1. Either the D rattles Matt Ryan in the Q1 and he sucks the rest of the game or they allow them to stay in it and the Falcons hang around like the Vikes two weeks ago. Rodgers won't struggle with the Falcons D, they don't have any kind of unique quality that will cause him problems...Mike Zimmer has had success against Rodgers with Cincy, that helped Minnesota stay in the game. Mike Nolan hasn't ever really given Rodgers problems and there's no elite player on that D that could be disruptive. I think Rodgers opens this one up early, like all the others, and Matt Ryan presses too much.

Packers 38

Falcons 17

Antiworst is disgusted in you. Show some conviction in your negative nelly prediction? No high powered rifle shot at the best player in the NFL by disgruntled former poster, the icon? No move to play AJ Hawk at NT? No move to have Brad Childress signed as offense coordinator? We need some kick ass offense? Come on!

Good points!

I agree. If this was a Sunday afternoon game at 1 PM Eastern, I would predict something like 45-10 Green Bay.

On MNF with half the country making jokes about the NFC South and Atlanta wanting to look good on a national stage, I think it will be close, but Green Bay will eke out a win by pulling away in the 4th quarter by something like 34-24.

The flaw in your reasoning is that "Atlanta wanting to look good on a national stage" will result in a closer game.  I suggest the opposite.  Atlanta's intense efforts to not look bad on a national stage will make them look worse.  Pass rushers will lose their containment, defensive backs will bite on fake pumps, and their QB's interceptions will increase exponentially as the game goes on.  All of this will simply mean that the Packers are so far ahead in the second half that there's more time to talk about Favre.  Whether he is at the game or not.

I hope Rodgers runs for 2 first downs on the first series.  If that happens, a blowout will ensue.

Otherwise I hate this game:  this is a desperate Falcon team who is a 12.5 point underdog on National tv with their season on the line, against the suddenly and prematurely anointed Super Bowl champions.  That's a recipe for disaster in today's NFL.

And GB punts on second and third downs to make Mastay earn his keep.
