Same song, different verse. The recent media love affair with the team we all love continues as the Pack goes up 21-0 in the first quarter on touchdowns by Cobb and Lacey and a fumble return by Mike Neal. It's over early, No Aaron in the fourth quarter as Matt Flynn continues his work as a human victory cigar. Pack rolls, 45-17.

Falcons: one
Mike Smith repeats his "They were the better team... tonight" coment from after the 2010 playoff shellacking.
GBP 35 - Hawks 21 No screwing around with this one. Hit em early and hit em hard.
Pack 31....Dirty Birds 13.
Packers 37

A primetime Lamblowout.
Pack - 45
Falcons - 20
Arod sits out the 4th quarter again so we can groom Flynn to take over next season.
Atlanta plays masterfully against the Packers relaxed defense in the first half, trailing only 24-21,then MM in the locker room at halftime blows not one nut but two at them and they come out in the second half and shut out Manny Ice and crew 17-0 and Packers win 41-21.
Falcons 44
Packers 15
Can't win with field goals.
New York Jets nil, Green Bay Packers nine.
Joke from last week's game thread, Mr. Contrary.
31 -24 Packers.
On a side note, I miss Wilson and Watt in Madison.
Just because you guys get your knickers in a twist over FGs doesn't mean I have to.quote:Joke from last week's game thread, Mr. Contrary.

Consider that stolen.
Packers score early and often. Packers 38-Falcons 17.
Rodgers throws 2 picks and Lacy fumbles once. Cutler doesn't turn it over and Forte goes for 150+. Bears stun the Packers 37-20.
Another 50+ at Lambeau? It could happen.
Very weak pass defense by the Falcons but for some reason I think Lacy will have a big game
Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Eddie Lacy... against 32nd D in a 32 team league?... Let me see...
Packers 6 TD's, 2 FG's... just miss 50 point game as Flynn throws interception late...
Revamped D with Mathews and Barrington plugging the middle...
Packers 49 - 17
Despite an heroic effort we have a let down. Sadly we lose our first game at home. As AR says he is "one game away from getting thrown into the trash". They have a great game plan and Shields cannot play and we cannot stop a determined Matty Ice and his WR's. We end up trying to guess "where's Julio". Hester runs all over our ST's. Our run defense cannot stop Jackson and we fall in a close one and hope that we can possibly make the playoffs on the road.
Falcons have some offensive weapons but their QB is nothing special, in spite of what the talking heads may say. Packer offense is functioning like a well-oiled machine at home and the red zone issues from the last game disappear. Big game from Lacy.

Must be a 2 point conversion in there to make it 49.
Since me being cocky has no effect on the actual game...I'll just say that from all accounts, it would be surprising if the Pack do not win this game by 2+ scores
Atlanta has a terrible pass defense.
Atlanta cannot rush the passer
Dome team coming to play in Lambeau at night in December
Pack - 41
Falcons - 16
This game will be decided in Q1. Either the D rattles Matt Ryan in the Q1 and he sucks the rest of the game or they allow them to stay in it and the Falcons hang around like the Vikes two weeks ago. Rodgers won't struggle with the Falcons D, they don't have any kind of unique quality that will cause him problems...Mike Zimmer has had success against Rodgers with Cincy, that helped Minnesota stay in the game. Mike Nolan hasn't ever really given Rodgers problems and there's no elite player on that D that could be disruptive. I think Rodgers opens this one up early, like all the others, and Matt Ryan presses too much.

Chance for an under achiever to redeem their season on national stage. Closer than most care to see.

Antiworst is disgusted in you. Show some conviction in your negative nelly prediction? No high powered rifle shot at the best player in the NFL by disgruntled former poster, the icon? No move to play AJ Hawk at NT? No move to have Brad Childress signed as offense coordinator? We need some kick ass offense? Come on!

Good points!

I agree. If this was a Sunday afternoon game at 1 PM Eastern, I would predict something like 45-10 Green Bay.
On MNF with half the country making jokes about the NFC South and Atlanta wanting to look good on a national stage, I think it will be close, but Green Bay will eke out a win by pulling away in the 4th quarter by something like 34-24.
31 -24 Packers.

And Nick Toon, Abbrederis, and NFL quality TEs.

The flaw in your reasoning is that "Atlanta wanting to look good on a national stage" will result in a closer game. I suggest the opposite. Atlanta's intense efforts to not look bad on a national stage will make them look worse. Pass rushers will lose their containment, defensive backs will bite on fake pumps, and their QB's interceptions will increase exponentially as the game goes on. All of this will simply mean that the Packers are so far ahead in the second half that there's more time to talk about Favre. Whether he is at the game or not.
I hope Rodgers runs for 2 first downs on the first series. If that happens, a blowout will ensue.
Otherwise I hate this game: this is a desperate Falcon team who is a 12.5 point underdog on National tv with their season on the line, against the suddenly and prematurely anointed Super Bowl champions. That's a recipe for disaster in today's NFL.
it seems like this weekend is Fumblerooski weekend. as long as the GBP don't turn the ball over they will win this game going away.
CHEERS! it's almost tailgating time!!

agree. remember the prime time game in NO
So many road teams won this week, 10 to be exact. Since it is usally hard to win on the road in the NFL odds are Atlanta won't. JMHO.
Odds are Green Bay is a much better and more focused team.
And GB punts on second and third downs to make Mastay earn his keep.
packers 106
hawks 10
I admittedly am sort of looking past this game to Buffalo which I truly believe will be a tough road game on a short week of practice.
For this one, Pack 34 - Birdies 20
