Everyone wants to talk about Kaepernick being the difference but IMO it is and always has been about the OL and DL matchups and I still don't like how GB stacks up against those guys.   In particular, I don't like how our DL matches up with their DL because our run defense and pass rush has been awful and it's going to be really apparent on Sunday.

The only wild card (no pun intended) is how SF responds to the weather and conditions.   The best case is they turn the ball over a few times or make mistakes to let GB hang around because on paper this is a big mismatch.

SF 24 - GB 13 - hope I'm rong

Why not tell them that Appleton High School has a nice field to practice on...since they stay in Appleton anyway.

we don't want them either!

If the Niners think spending some time outside on Saturday is going to help them on Sunday they are crazy.  It's going to feel downright balmy today compared to tomorrow.  The other factor is that the field at Lambeau won't be frozen solid like any other turf conditions will be around here.   You also can't simulate wind conditions specific to Lambeau Field.

So unless they are practicing at Lambeau at noon on Sunday I'm not sure it really makes a whole hell of a lot of difference

MM finally starts pointing out to the refs that Harbaugh is committing a penalty by coming way out on the field to bitch to the refs; this ultimately leads to a key unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the SF bench in the 4th quarter.

GB 21, SF 17

After bathing in a concoction made of Warm Skin, Vaseline and Tiger Balm all day the Pack come out firing on all cylinders getting an early 14-0 lead.  Might be 15-0 instead for Crosby may kick as many as 10 field goals.  During the game I will purposely subject myself to several bouts of horrendous, mind-numbing BrainFreeze as a show of solidarity.

Pack 30

SF 28

d-n-p I don't think they play on Sunday, game is moved to sometime, maybe Monday Night...unprecedented.

then if that fails, I just don't believe in the defense, I think Gore and Kaperdink run all over us.  38-28

A friend of mine at work asked me what my prediction was for the game and I said 38-7 and his response was "wow, you're not giving the Packers much of a chance, are you?" My response was "no, I'm predicting the Pack is gonna blow them out" at the time it was partial sarcasm but now after thinking about all week I am sticking with that prediction!

Pack 38
Whinebaggers 7

Gotta stack the box to stop Gore and Kaperdick most of the time in this weather.

1) Keep Gore under 100 and Kaperdick under 50 rushing.

2) No Pack turnovers

3) Absolutely no Score vs. Pack Special teams

4) Crosby MUST make all FG's

then, Pack win 26-20.

The Packers defense will slow down SF's WRs, but get torched all day up the middle by Vernon Davis and Frank Gore.

Rodgers will be under fire, but he'll make some plays. Lacy will have a tough time finding running room.

49ers win 30-17.

Fortunately games aren't played "on paper" & the best team doesn't always win. (See 2003 Packers or Super Bowl 32)

Lance Easley will draw an emergency assignment when GB travels to Seattle next week after a couple of the regular stripes develop a nasty case of frostbite tomorrow.

Hope I'm wrong.

F the 49'ers.

Packers will find a way to win and this will provide me with enough ammunition to create a hostile work place for my peers who are 49er fans.  Pay back is gonna be a bitch!

I need this win!

We keep waiting for the defense and special teams to have a signature effort and who knows maybe this is the game.  Without that I can't see Green Bay winning this game.

My hope is the Niners come in overconfident and the weather will cause them to make some mistakes.   If that happens it's very possible the Packers could rise up and steal this game but only if they are able to hold their own on D and ST and more importantly the LOS and that hasn't happened yet in their last 3 games v SF.

Prove me wrong tomorrow Packers.  It sure would be sweet to end Harbaugh's season

I predict we will win the SB.  This season isn't exactly like 2010, but there are some similarities.  First, neither team is exactly like the ones that met in week 1.  Second, Finley won't be playing - and we did it before without him.  Third, with AR being hurt there is half a season of film missing that SF would otherwise study.  Fourth, Lacy is a better runner statistically this year than Gore was this year.  Lacy was a little unsure the first couple of weeks then missed 2 weeks because of concussion and still had more yards than Gore did this year.  And fifth, the 2011 season SB was played between NE & NYG, NE had a terrible defense - until the playoffs started.  If it can happen to them, it can happen to us.  I know NE didn't win but it provides hope.  And sixth, if Lombardi's Packers can win it in sub zero temps, so can McCarthy's.  This will prove 2010 was no fluke.

23-16 Packers.  If you think 4th & 48 was unbelievable, wait until Sunday.  I don't know what but something.   Maybe a pick 6 for 99 yards by Shields.  Hawk strip sack fumble recovery lateral to Tramon who goes 82 yards for a TD. Either of these in the final 30 seconds.

NFL Network has a Crabtree vs Nelson Debate?  WTF was that?  Not even close!  More disrespect for Jordy.  Amazing!

If the 49ers try to shut down Jordy, then what da fk will they do with Cobb?  Pick your poison boys.  The only hope they will have is for their D-line to kick our o-line's asses, badly!  Could happen, yeah, but I am thinking it won't.

I like AR's ability to throw better in this weather than I do Kaeperdink's. But, I think SF will pound the ball with Gore because we can't stop the run. For their change of pace, they will use the middle of the field with Bolton, Davis and Gore out of the backfield while our Bermuda Triangle defense disappears there. Our WRs know the field better, especially on the edges where it can get slippery, and that's to Jordy's back shoulder advantage.

I actually think the cold works in favor of the Niners early as they are more physical up front than we are, but we have a bit more staying power in it. This one comes down to a Crosby field goal, and he squeaks it inside the right upright. 23-20.

I know the whole Lambeau Field Frozen Tundra reputation has lost its mystic in recent years, but I think it has a profound impact Sunday. Not only because of how SF CAN'T handle the conditions, but more so because how GB DOES handle them. I think it evens the field a bit between both squads. 23-10 GB.

A couple of days ago CAPackfan95 chastised me for rewatching the season opener that the Packers lost. Fair enough.  But I also can not understand how any true Packer fans would pick the Packers to lose and still watch the game.  To me it is one and the same.

I'm officially worried

The Packers are going to have to score over thirty to win. If it isn't too windy, Rodgers will be able to throw and put up points.

Up next - have you bought enough merchandise to be a "true" fan?
