Deja vu all over again, except this time with more production on the ground from Eddie as the Vikes play two deep and Rodgers takes what they give him. Two first half TD passes to Nelson, two on the ground for Eddie, 31-0 at the half and 45-10 final as once again Rodgers sits out the fourth quarter.

Peppers gets a forced fumble and two sacks.

Once you get out of high school sports and play at a different level you will, in most likelihood, learn a huge lesson in sports psychology:  there is no one harder to beat than the team/person that you have TROUNCED.  The reason is that you spend all your prep time thinking, "OK, I know, I have to get serious and DO THE WORK" while at the same time, way back in your head, you are also thinking, "Yeah, but these guys are pushovers."  Meanwhile, the opponent you thrashed is working their tail off in a bid for redemption.  Herb Brooks understood this--it's why he scheduled an exhibition game with the Ruskies right before the Olympics.  Think they were taking the college kids seriously the night before the game in the medal round after they had thrashed them a couple weeks before?

Vikes are as big a test as the Eagles.  We proved we can beat a contender.  Now we'll prove that we can sweep a division foe because we want the playoffs more than anyone else--and that's what it's all about.

A Packers win is a no-brainer. But could they pull off a third 50-point game in a row? I don't see why not. (Well, I do -- it's probably technically very unlikely. But that's my bold prediction.)

Not sure what the weather or field conditions will be but I actually think GB stood a better chance playing indoors on the fast track with how their team is built

The Vikings have had some success running the ball and I expect then to play ball control.

Play smart and don't make a bunch of mistakes and GB should win by double digits

Rodgers hates turnovers.  Now if he can just get the rest of the team not to turn the ball over.

Then again, they did break Philly's 20-something game streak of getting at least one turnover.

The Vikings have actually played quite well on D. Their offense is putrid.

Folks can say what they want about MM, but this is truly incredible. You want to win your division...beat the teams who are in it, and the Pack have been destroying their division foes since he arrived

Concur, Zimmer has helped the defense a lot more than The Norv has helped the offense so far

In the first match at Lambeau, they were rushing Rodgers pretty good and Xavier Rhodes looks solid when he isn't being run over by Lacy. Greenway looks old and slow though

I heard a cold rain in the the forecast.

from packerboi's post in another thread:

According to Pro Football Focus, the Vikings missed a season-high 13 tackles on Sunday. Rookie linebacker Anthony Barr was credited with five in what was one of the toughest days of his rookie season. Running back Matt Forte shook off Barr's arm-tackle attempt on a 30-yard screen in the first quarter, and Barr was the first of four Vikings to miss on Forte's 32-yard run at the end of the third quarter.

so we'll see if they've fixed that this week.    I expect our Lacy bowling ball to have another solid day.  now someone go find a picture of a lacey bowling ball.

McCarthy and Rodgers have always put wind #1 as the weather condition that causes the most issue with the offense.

Agree, however, it doesn't help Norv was handcuffed by the AP situation. The Viking defense is pretty decent though. This game is a really good test for Rodgers. I had no doubt they could torch the Eagles. Let's see what happens on Sunday.

They've played quite well against some average/below-average teams. The Patriots, in Week 2 when they were supposed to be about to collapse, put up 30. The Packers put up 42 in Week 5. The Saints only managed 20, but it was Week 3 and they looked awful early in the season IIRC.

Not saying it's likely, but the way the Packers are firing on offense right now, why not hope for another 50-pointer? They already put up 42 once this season, and now it's hard to argue they don't look better now than they did during the beginning of the season.

As much as a first look says blowout on par with the last couple of weeks, I can't help recall how a "mehh" running team in New Orleans went crazy and their bottom 12 defense held the Packers to their 3rd lowest point total of the season.

As long as the turnovers aren't drastically in the Vikings favor, I see 27-16 Packers.
