it'll be a cycle of them, kirksey, summers, then burks....repeat

IMO, the Packers are largely returning last year's team. Potentially, we have improved and added more weapons to the offense, although remaining 95 % unchanged on defense.
The Vikes are almost a polar opposite. They are largely unchanged on offense.
Although they should have Cook available, the only other significant change was at WR; essentially swapping Diggs for Sharpe, but Sharpe ain't Diggs.
Meanwhile, they have had wholesale changes on defense. Ngakoue is the only addition to speak of since Pierce opted out, and their defensive backfield will be relatively new.
Therefore, the Vikings won't be able to handle our pass rush, our defense will contain Cook, and they won't have any answers for Aaron, Aaron, Adams, and Dillon.
Packers 34 Vikes 17.
Pack always. 24-13. We will have some surprises in MLF’s second season. Maybe game one with a couple trick plays. Mark it down! I feel that the our wide receivers that were there last season and injured step up and that position that’s been a ? will be okay. Or, maybe not....

If we get Tiny Titan Kirksey we only need 1 LB.
Wait. Are you Eye In the Sky?
When is it ever a good idea to replace your 2 starting CBs and your top nickel CB in one offseason and then have to face a saavy QB like Rodgers in the season opener? With no preseason or real preparation to speak of?
Assuming the OL doesn’t completely implode I expect Rodgers to have a big day. Certainly could help if Hunter isn’t 100%.
Not mentioned is the fact that the Viking OL is STILL horrible, Clark and the Smiths destroyed them last time, and yeah, Cook wasn't playing but they will abuse Cousins again....
Keke may be an X factor against the run. He's not a gap clogger like Lowry and Lancaster. He may be able to move laterally better to cut off those outside zone runs that Cook has gashed us with in the past. Having an ILB not get washed out by OL will help immensely also. If Kirksey is healthy he's going to make a HUGE difference on this defense. Martinez was serviceable, but having impact players at ILB can put a defense over the top.
From all reports Kirksey has been very impressive at ILB. I never heard that about Martinez.
The real kick in the shorts is rookie Kamal Martin was really standing out as well and then of course in typical GB fashion he gets hurt. Thankfully it wasn’t season ending, but with their lack of depth at ILB he would have been a good addition to start the year.
Per Ian Rapoport, “#Vikings DE Danielle Hunter’s status for Sunday is very much in doubt, per me and @TomPelissero. If Hunter practices today, it will likely be limited. A situation to monitor.”
IIRC Hunter hasn’t participated in any practices at all so far.
Maybe GB can get by at RT in this game.

Plus he played at Minnesota and might have had a home town boost...

What's the intel on their new signing Ngakoue?
Best pass rusher in league history. Ask any Vikings fan.
Hunter not practicing today.
Hunter to IR.
Per various reports:
The #Vikings have placed DE Danielle Hunter on Injured Reserve, meaning he’ll miss at least 3 games. He did not practice today.
Catch you next time, Danielle.
Hmmm, might explain the trade for Ngakoue.
If Rick Wagner is fully healthy, I expect him to be solid against the Vikes.
If were up to me tho, I'd park Marcedes alongside him for for much of the first quarter.
Slide Elgton out to RT and play Patrick at LG. That would be their 5 best (healthy) OL.
Pack 17
Queens 10
Slow start, D wins the Day
Rodgers sacked 2x, 1 TD, no INTs
Cousins turfed 2x, 1 INT, 0 TDs

I'm normally against moving guys around on the line, but I think Jenkins is a special athlete. If he can play at RT the way he has at Guard, we would have the best tackle tandem the NFL. That's probably a better setup than having the best left side in the NFL.
@grignon posted:Unfortunately the question remains: Do the Packers have the receivers to take advantage of that?
Davante will be the best receiver in minnesota,on Sunday. Lazard is better than anyone else minnesota has on their roster. MVS, Taylor, and ESB are icing on the cake for the Packers, at WR. I like our TEs better, as well. Aaron Jones will put on a clinic on how a RB becomes a receiving threat. As far as I know, the vikings still have O'Neil and Reiff on their O Line, so The Smiths, and now, Gary should have fun in Minnesota's backfield on passing plays. Especially third and long type downs. Feast on purple, all day long! Packers 28-17.

Even if Hunter plays, MLF will have a TE, or RB(Williams), help in blocking Hunter on the right side of the O Line, no matter who our starting RT is. Rodgers will have to get rid of the ball more quickly if minnesota rushes the passer. Look for screen passes to Jones to nullify minnesota's pass rush.
Hullo?
Hunter on DL.
If only we could read posts just above ours.
I think Aaron sees this accurately.
Packers 31
Queens 17
The more I look at the matchup the better it looks for the Packers (Hunter out certainly doesn't hurt). Think the offense takes a big step forward in year two.
This gives me hope because Adams is talking no nonsense stuff instead of praising a scrimmage. If MVS really opens it up against this young secondary while they're rolling guys over to Adams this game will be a friggin' hoot.

Man, I was thinking the same thing that Jenkins may end up at RT before this is all said and done. I'd like to see if Turner or Wagner can fill the void but if they are inconsistent or just plain bad I wouldn't mind seeing Block-It man out at RT. The only concern is I don't think he's had any experience outside so he'd probably need some time in practice first.
The other thing to be said though is if the left side is so dominant along with all the resources they've put into the run game they really could minimize any weakness on the RT side just by driving it up the left side.

Hope we see more of Swervin Ervin on offense this year. Good things usually happened when he was involved last year.
I'm guessing Ervin is the reason they aren't too worried about bringing on more scrub WRs. At this point, I'm glad they used the roster spot on a DT.
It's pretty fun to think about this collection of WRB/TEHB rotating in and out of the backfield into the slot or outside while still have more beef behind the line or releasing for short passes.
Bill Huber strongly implied on his podcast today that Ervin will be heavily involved with the offense.
Man, this could be really fun. I have no clue what to expect out of this offense in year 2. The Packers line is really going to draw focus. I'm hoping some of the rookies can contribute as well.
Za'Darius Smith on Rashan Gary joining him and Preston Smith as prominent OLBs: "I think it could be a trio. We might have to change his last name."

Optimistic about Gary this year.
