Burnes stepped up but Houser regressed big time. But then of course Burnes gets hurt. Knebel looks like the closer version of Jimmy Nelson. Lights out then gets hurt and never recovers to previous form. Then thereβs the hitting. If they werenβt going to resign Grandal or Moose then Hiura and Braun and Narvaez and Yelich had to step it up and it didnβt happen. The guys they picked up off the scrap heap, well, they are picked up off the scrap heap.
And yet, we are one hot streak from Yelich from doing some damage in the playoffs. Unless he's not really over the fractured kneecap psychologically (and that's possible), he is obviously due. He's the type of player that is capable of going on a 9 for 12, 4 HR streak in a 3 game series.
