If memory serves, the Packers were hurting at LB that year because of injury.
Even though Campbell was hurt and not playing well, his availability was a big help to the team.
SF's defense has taken a step or two back this season.
On a completely unrelated note, 49er fans (not used to seeing unaggressive/ useless LB play), do not seem to be very pleased by the "addition" of former Packer stalwart De'vondre Campbell to the their team's LB unit.
Some recent 49er fan posts regarding the LB who when he left GB made his displeasure known include the following:
"This guy runs like he's got cinderblocks attached to his feet. Like a DT trying to catch a play from behind. Holy hell"
"If you're a linebacker and lose a foot race to Geno Smith you need go hide from society for a while. You're a freakin joke Campbell!!!"
"If you want to know who to blame on that game-losing play, look no further than Campbell. He abandoned his job to cover a WR he didn't need to cover.
No player on this team has played a bigger role in the team's losses than this guy."
"Just f**king cut him already"
"Trash"

I've watched him closely all year. He's made a couple plays but the glaring lack of speed that the Niners fans are used to with Warner & Greenlaw is shocking to them.

Something was up that year he was All-Pro....Maybe he was on the Tom Brady "diet" that year 🤷🏻

Yeah, it's hard to explain 2021 unless he was juicing and nothing since then.
