While the running game has come up huge, especially considering the recent injuries to Cobb, Jones and Finley, I think we should give some major props to Jarrett Boykin, because as good as the Law Firm of Lacy, Franklin and Starks has been, if it were only Jordy Nelson out there right now, things might be different. Don't get me wrong, Aaron Rodgers can put the ball in spots that only a small handful of quarterbacks to ever play the game can. That first touchdown throw to Nelson was mind boggling. But as good as Rodgers and Nelson are, Boykin's emergence in this offense has also made a huge difference. And going forward, opposing defenses have to respect him.

He started out slow against the Ravens three weeks ago, as Aaron's first five pass attempts to him fell incomplete. But since the start of the third quarter of the Ravens game, Boykin has put up some outstanding numbers. In the last two and a half games, Boykin has been targeted 17 times, and caught 14 balls. Those 14 receptions have gone for 235 yards (a 16.8 average) and a touchdown. This from a guy that until last Sunday had never started an NFL game.

Jarrett isn't a blazer (his combine 40 time was 4.62), but he plays faster. He has very good hands (especially going  to the ground), and in going back to watch him tonight, he seems to run very clean routes. I also like his size. At 6'2" 217 pounds, he can go over the middle until Randall gets healthy.

When our guys get healthy, just look out. 4 and 5 receiver sets, Nelson, Cobb, Jones, Boykin and White. Wow. No team in the NFL will be able to stop this offense.

Boykin's been a pro since he joined the NFL.  No surprises here.

Remember the competition with "Deondre Borel," or whatever his name was?  They had to keep Boykin, because he caught everything they threw at him.  Literally every last ball.

Pretty tough to cut a guy whose hands are a football magnet.

I'm not taking anything away from Boykin or his efforts as we can see he's getting better with more touches/playing time. But for now as we sit here just 2 weeks into his 'real' playing time, I'm guessing much of this success has to do with who's throwing him the ball.

Rodgers said he and MM sat down before the Browns game and came up with several high percentage passing plays that they felt would help Boykin. Apparently Boykin is a confidence guy and a worrier if he drops any passes in practice, he's convinced he's about to be cut. So getting his confidence up there was important and thus MM and Rodgers recognized this and did something about it.

I don't know if a lot of NFL QB's would do that. Certainly the guy who played QB before Rodgers likely wouldn't have given a rats ass about his lack of confidence and be giving him dirty looks for running the wrong routes...especially after he just threw a pick.

When JJ comes back, it'll be interesting to see what Boykins role will be. The Packers face some pretty lousy/injured secondaries in the next few weeks. That should help as well.

Jordy, with Jones and Boykin outside.

Myles is quick/fast, but damn, does he even weigh 150?

Boykin has come up huge since Baltimore. Watching him toy with press coverage on his long reception up the sideline last night was fun to watch. White reminds me of a raw Tim Dwight. Fast as hell and a potential nightmare for defenses if they're accounting for Jones, Jordy, Boykin or Lacy. He just needs more time to develop.

Speaking of decisions that will need to be made. I'm not sure Lattimore isn't the best option to start at ILB permanently.

At least he gets out of the way of the semi if he's in the middle of the road.

One more thing. Randall Cobb will be back week 17 but he won't play in that last game

Greg Jennings can attest to how important the QB is to a receiver. Other than the bad drop I thought White looked OK but he does need to bulk up a bit.

Boykin is a keeper; White is a stop-gap. I'll be interested to see what Harper can do.

We have young guys, but Rodgers is flying under the radar with how great he's doing this year with this group of receivers. This morning on Mike & Mike, they were championing Brady and Belichek and how they are awesome with the receivers they have. MM getting no love for the coaching job he's doing.

Heck, for the first time in a long time, I was impressed with MM's play calling last night (except for that stack on the goal line when everyone knew what play was called).

In fairness to Mike and Mike, I would bet they saw very little of the Packer game last nite,  the matchup was not very attractive to anyone other than Packer/Vikes fans and the World Series did command a lot of national attention.

Kind of where I'm sitting, as well. I don't know how they can justify taking him off the field right now.

So, if B. Jones is one of the best ILBs and Hawk is playing great right now who do you sit to play Lattimore, who I agree is playing terrific? Do you wait for Jones another couple weeks to make sure you have him in the stretch run, or do you sit Hawk, who has apparently found the fountain of college play?

Rotate them. Jones was playing terrific ball until his injury.
