Early but let's play draft. Looking at top picks in draft, at 21 we don't get a great linebacker, maybe a fairly decent Dl but not a game changer. Is it time for the big, big move?
Would you make this trade?... for the one true playmaker in the draft, as much as we can predict these things.
Would you trade our 1st (21), our 2nd (53)... and here's the hurt... Jordy Nelson... to go up to 4 and draft Jadeveone Clowney? The draft chart says it's fair if Jordy given a late 1st round grade. Clowney may actually fall that far.
Jordy is my favorite player. Don't want him to leave... ever. But for a young Julius Peppers to team with Clay Mathews... would you consider?
Understand if no one wants to play while we're still licking our wounds, but I think the one overwhelming move that makes Packer D dangerous is another potentially great pass rusher to go with Mathews and Mike Daniels. I know TT doesn't like free agents, but he has traded up in the draft to get the player he wants.
Having proposed this I now admit... I wouldn't make the trade. Like Jordy too much... but I'd seriously consider. If they came back and said Cobb instead of Jordy, on the clock... what does Ted do?
