Todd?

Yes. Did you recognize him or the background photo?

Small, awesome venue in the ACL building. He was sipping martini's all night. A little over 2 hours of an eclectic mix of his songs and some covers, like Melanie's Brand New Key, Proclaimers 500 Miles, The Cars Let The Good Times Roll. Greg Hawkes  (The Cars) has been playing keys with TR off and on for the past few years.

His current hair (style?) He actually played a tiny local concert theatre a couple years back---maybe 400 seats.

When I read the play set to Mrs. Kiel after I'd bought tickets (no oldies, just whatever his latest interest was) she passed and I took my 22-year-old daughter.

He wanted no part of the 70's---one time he played 2 chords from "Hello it's Me", rolled his eyes and moved on. Didn't dig the music, but appreciated his passion.

I like the “like”...mostly for passive aggressive reasons. When somebody gets obnoxious, I’ll always “like” the counterargument.

I’m all for debating and listening to other points of view,  but occasionally somebody gets all hot and pi$$y when you disagree with them, and then the insults start.

No thanks. I’ll avoid the keyboard warrior routine and just “like” the counterargument. It’s more subtle.

We were just talking about T. Rundgren during the Pack/Vikings game.  After Philly won this past Super Bowl, someone interviewed TR and assumed he was an Eagles fan having grown up in that area.  Apparently he said he isn't an Eagles fan as he became a big Packers fan after receiving royalties checks for "Bang On The Drum All Day" for many years.

On a personal note, I did see Rundgren as part of a Beatles tribute band maybe around 2002.  He did break away from the Beatles momentarily to do "Hello It's Me".   It's too bad he can't embrace his '70s stuff as it was incredible, but I think he just got burned out doing it over and over.

Some artists/bands from the '60's and '70's make a decent living touring with whatever line-up they can still assemble playing in smaller venues.
Other artists resist mightily or even refuse to play their old material. Like they are always driven to find the next 'sound' or composition.
The best find a way to incorporate both!

Excellent.  Glad to hear TR still dips into his large bag of 70s tunes.  My personal favorite version of "Hello It's Me" is the live version he did for his "Back To The Bars" album.  He looks like he's having a blast doing that song at that time (1978 I believe).  The Nazz version of it is very good as well, slower than the version that became popular in '72/'73.
