French-born actor best-known for Gigi and Octopussy dies at 93

WIth Leslie Caron in Gigi

I have to admit I don't care much for Gigi, since I'm not a huge fan of the MGM musicals.  But if you want to watch it, it's coming up on TCM at 1:00 AM Tuesday (that's between Monday night and Tuesday morning).

Jourdan started his career in France during the war, and made a splash with his first English-language film, The Paradine Case in 1947.  Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, the movie has Jourdan in a supporting role as the valet to a murder victim who may have been murdered by the wife (Alida Valli); Jourdan's character may or may not have been having an affair with her and may know more than he's letting on.  Valli's barrister, Gregory Peck, begins to fall in love with her.

I'd also recommend Letter From an Unknown Woman.

Jourdan was predecesed by his wife of 68 years in 2014.
