The deer was 80 yards away. Giacone put his crosshairs on the deers shoulders and touched off his .300 Winchester Magnum rifle. The buck dropped in its tracks. Giacone climbed down from his stand to recover his harvest and as he stood over it, he realized just how odd the rack was.
"I went down there to see what it was," Giacone said. "I was like, 'It's in full velvet.'
"It's got drop tines and kickers and all kinds of stuff on it."
The real surprise came when he lifted one of the buck's rear legs. Instead of seeing the male deer parts he expected, Giacone saw an udder.
