Well, it has been hard for Gutey to add any offensive weapons when he has been devoting all those 1st round picks (besides Love) to a defense that is now ranked ... [checking] ... 20th in points per game.

Just gotta be patient and let Gutey continue to work his magic and the team might be competing for a vaunted NFC North title in about 5 years.

Add a Rodger's BFF in Cobb who was aging and chronically hurt. And a TE in Lewis who's a great locker room guy ...and that's about it.

Lewis was no threat in the passing game at all, but he was an exceptionally good blocker and probably stabilized the protection schemes and run blocking more than we knew. Musgrave, Kraft, and DeGuara all struggle in pass protection. I'm not sure what DeGuara does well. He's a fullback that's trying to play TE.

The ringer just did a story on who the 90 most desired guys on the trade market are right now. The rankings list 103 players because they didn't rank guys like Rashan Gary because their trade value was less if they were free agents after the year.

The list really indicates how devoid of talent this roster is. The rankings incorporate the contract of the player as well, so 2nd and 3rd year players rank higher than their talent alone because they are on cheaper contracts. The Packers do not have a guy in the top 50.

Jaire Alexander is at #52. Christian Watson is at #88 because of his physical tools. Rashan Gary was listed as honorable mention but would be higher after this contract extension. That's it.

Preston Smith probably has some trade value as would Aaron Jones, but you are looking at 6th or 7th round type returns.  Jones is by far their best playmaker, but he's constantly dinged up and is a very good, but not elite, player at a position that you can find decent players on rookie contracts with mid- and late round picks (like Jones was).

If they'd have done this type of list any time between 2010 and 2015, the Packers would have probably had 4-5 guys in the top 50 on it.

I’m having a tough time reconciling if Indy offered Jonathan Taylor for Christian Watson straight up.

Yes, he’s making 14M a season but he’s only 24 and a Jones/Taylor combo would be pretty damn scary plus give Jordan Love some relief.

Plus, if the Packers decide to move on from Jones and Dillon in 2024 they’d still have JT as their feature back.

There is zero veteran leadership in the receiver room this year. Lewis is no panacea, but he or a solid veteran WR might have helped some.

What have you seen this year in run blocking from our OL to think anybody would be scary trying to run the ball?

But I read several times on X4 that the Packers didn't need a vet WR.  We need to let the young guys all grow together.  A vet WR would only hold them back.  Now it looks like hold them back from what.
