Thing 1 and Thing 2 on KFAN have talked themselves into believing their team will unleash an offensive barrage on San Diego, including direct-snap plays to Joe Webb, leading to a win over the Chargers on the way to an 11-5 season. It's adorable.

For some reason, the media here in the Twin Cities always has the Vikes in the Super Bowl and saying they will surprise a lot of people. It is just the area's media trying to keep interest up in the team so Zigi doesn't stuff everything into semis in the dark of night and trundle off to LA.

Minny has had a very tough couple of years with all its teams and is jealous as heck over Wisconsin teams' success. In MN, the Twins can't beat the Yanks, and this year hardly anyone else; Gophers have been in a hole for years; Wolves need a respirator; Wild has been tame; Queens... well, they're the Queens for a reason. The only team doing well is the WNBA's Lynx and they get no coverage whatsoever.

At least the GB media gives a more honest assessment of the Pack, and actually has some knowledgeable media members. Wink

Nah, the Superdome has been renovated into a new-and-improved, state-of-the-art stadium. Plus, the Saints' lease with the Dome doesn't expire until 2025.

When was it renovated? I was there 3 years ago for the Monday Nighter and didn't care for it at all. Very dark, grey colored everywhere. Acoustics weren't very good. And everywhere there was cement, it felt slippery....even before they game. The people I was with are big Saints fans and even they weren't overly impressed.

Sorry Armored, I should've been more clear on that, I was refering to the St. Paul Saints.

Ah. Gotcha. Wink
The 12 or so years I lived up there wasn't much different.

Every year the KFAN rubes believe their team is the best in the league, and to some extent it helps draw interest in the station and the shows they provide.

However, for them to suggest they are going to 1) have their way with SD and 2) finish 11-5 seems a little ridiculous to me. When I looked at GB's schedule, I think the game at SD might be one of their three toughest games of the entire season. The Chargers are no pushover and Rivers and that passing offense might put up 400 yards against that crappy secondary.
