MECCA Great article.
I recall getting on the floor during warm-ups in '69 and marveling at the height of the players/Alcinder.

Big Lew lived in the Juneau Village apartments on Van Buren just up the road from the arena....on one of the upper floors, somebody had "Bucks" green drapes.....we convinced ourselves that was Lew's apartment.
It was the era of "the" arenas
The Spectrum. The Omni. The MECCA. The Summit. The Garden. The Forum.
Just to name some well before naming rights
I recall going to many Bucks games as a kid at MECCA. Despite its size it was loud in that place. Bradley Center has never felt that way to me.
Favorite moment getting picture taken with El Sid in 1983 on the court. Still remember that years later
Finally calling the illegal screens...
Bucks disjointed offensively... need to move the ball and stop trying to make hero passes
Bucks actually playing solid D midway through 2Q
How old am I?
I remember Game 7, Celtics/Bucks on this floor in 1974.
Broke my heart.

Bucks giving up 3s again... keep missing their own looks again. 7 point lead bye bye
Itβs Kyrie and Horford- you stop them they donβt score.
The Bucks offense goes into deep freeze every time Monroe's On the court. Unless heβs making all of them, he ruins the offense.

Dick "The Cement Mixer" Cunningham. Doucette's nickname for him. Didn't he cut off a toe mowing lawn one summer before the season started?

wow. memories. I was just a kid, but had a job on weekends....a dishwasher at a Dirty Spoon type truck stop diner on the outskirts of my small home town. I remember going outside to listen on the transistor radio every so many minutes. Dang. I didn't want to work that Sunday afternoon, but my dad made me go. I thought for sure after the big Game 6 victory in the BG that they would win for sure in Milwaukee....but no, Havlicek had a monster 4th Quarter. Crap. I hated busing tables and washing dishes ever since.
