I'll say. Great pull, PF.
I could go on forever about how good he is. Best dribbler, best in tight spaces, making a case for being best passer, certainly one of the best finishers.
That vid above is hamstrung only by its date. His WC goals last year were pretty sensational especially given the fact he was a marked man.
He plays the game the right way. Title of this compilation says it all: "Messi Never Dives". Take that, Cristiano et.al.
His wonder goal from this weekend. I posted the TV feed on the FIFA thread, here's another view from the stands. Simply amazing.
Finally, the players know. As just one example, within the past year Messi was at a session also attended by the great Gigi Buffon, Italian WC champion, top 5 goalie of all time, and coincidentally Messi's opponent this weekend in the Champions League final. This picture was taken as the two players first saw each other.
Asked about why he met Messi with this gesture, Buffon said ""I just wanted to make sure Messi is human like us."
On many of those goals, Cristiano would have dropped like he been shot by a ****ing rocket. Messi is a lot smaller, but he has more heart. His vision is second to none. For most players I see the pass before they do(TV cameras are pretty useful). In many cases, they never see that open teammate galloping towards the goal. With Messi, that doesn't happen very often. If the pass is there he sees it every time.Best player in the world.
For me Garrincha was the best dribbler ever, but I will never argue with anyone who chooses Messi or Maradona.

Never played soccer. Never really followed it until my sons started playing. Those clips in the Never Dives video are fantastic. All young players should be taught this, leave your feet and you lose any advantage you have.
Certainly some of the take downs in soccer are real and guys get hurt, but too many pussy dives from these world class athletes.
That video could be CGI the way he is in control while others are not, or when they are trying to disrupt his path.
More than one player or coach has said that Messi makes moves otherwise only seen via Playstation.
Here's another new vid showing Lionel wreaking havoc on some of futbol's biggest names.
the move he pulls on Scholes. That ain't right.
Yup. Too bad Messi could never cut it in the Premier League. Until he does it on a cold rainy night at Stoke... Lump that ball into the mixer, boys, there's some proper football.

Ronaldo is the best goal scorer in the world. Messi is the best player. I would take Messi over CR any day because of all that he does in addition to scoring.
Ronaldo is a 200mm howitzer, and Messi is a 50mm sniper rifle. Both are very deadly, but one is more precise.
UEFA Supercup underway between Barcelona (UCL winner) and Sevilla (ECL winner). Messi scores on consecutive free kicks in the first 15 minutes. Cheat code.

Best part about Messi...he gets fouled, he just gets up and goes about his business. On a couple of occasions have I seen him lose his cool, but rarely.
Yeah, considering the fact that they kick the **** out of him, who can blame him for losing his cool from time to time?
Except for his penchant for diving, Robben is one of the most entertaining players in the world. That speed, the quick feet, impressive.
I know it's Fall, I know it's holiday season, I know it's Packer season, I know it's Wisco Disco time tonight in the championship game.
But hey!
It's El Clasico! Leo is running the show, and El Pistolero Suarez just hammered in a header from Neymar. 1-0 at the 52 minute mark... and Don Andres Iniesta about to come in... I like this party.
Viva Barcelona
Missed Clasico...I was fuming from the $hitshow of Chelsea @ Man City.
I watched zero soccer after that this weekend.
I hate Claudio Bravo.
I don't think you can blame the final 2 goals on Bravo. City allowed themselves to get caught out.
Yeah it's been a theme all year...the back line is hot garbage. Bravo looked like a respectable keeper when he's playing behind Pique, Mascherano and Umtiti. Stones is good but young....Otamendi is decent enough...but the FB are just piss.
While it all starts with shoddy D...two of those goals he was flat footed. Deer in headlights. Like he was mesmerized by a swarm of bees coming out of Willian's afro.
