Salary cap is catching up with them fast. They will have to let loose some veterans this year. While they have 10 million in cap space their QB cap number will go from 1.6 million per year to over 20 million after next year if not sooner.
Seattle is about a year behind the 9er's, Wilson cap number is about .85 million going up to 20 plus also.
This off season we should see both QB's agents asking for a big pay raise.
Great points, both teams built their roster while drafting high & hit big on QB's that are much better than anyone expected. Let's see if they can maintain in this "Cap era".
Because MM has gotten better as a coach as he's gone on. Now I'm only crossing my fingers that he gets the defense right.
Mike McCarthy may not be a top-flight "elite" HC in the NFL. At least not yet anyways. And I don't know who in the NFL is a "top-flight elite" HC. So much credit can go the QBs of so many so-called "elite" head-coaches.
But Mike is a very, very good HC. And if I had to vote "yes" or "no". I would say "YES", he is an elite HC. Just the way in this past season he was holding the team together when so many of us questioned their viability as a playoff team.
He makes some questionable play calls now and then and he does get out-coached once in awhile too. I think he needs a real OC so he can be a full-time HC on the sideline.
Despite the huge imbalance of on-field talent between the San Francisco and Green Bay, the Packers could just have as easily won the game rather than lose the way they did.
