A little bit shaky in the bottom of the 2nd other-wise Good job Ashby!!! 0-0 thru 2 innings
@lambeausouth posted:Hard to win when your offense scores 2 runs in 18 innings. I get that the Phillies are arguably the best team in baseball right now, but the Brewers came in having scored the second most runs in baseball.
Tomorrow is a must win, not so much for the standings, but so these guys prove to themselves they can beat this team.
Starting out 1 for 13 in Game 3. Ashby has looked good so far, but the Brewers are now 13 for 77 in the series with 2 extra base hits.
Yelich and Hoskins are 4 for 15. The rest of the team is 9 for 62.
Yet another out at home in the top of the 7th. Still being shutout 2-0.
Philly leading 2-0, in the 7th Crew batting now and get nothing, going to bottom of 7th now
Crew can't get anything going in the 8th either
Crew has 1 more chance to do something in the 9th down 2-0
Way to show up for the big series, offense. 2 runs and 14 hits in the first 26 innings against baseballβs best team.

And great idea pinch hitting for Turang with Monsaterio, who is hitting .138 on the season. Oops, I mean .133, as he predictably struck out.
Come on Yeli, tie this thing up!!!! One good swing.
Contreas with a solid single, tying run at the plate in Yelich vs Alvarado.
Okay, come on, Willy. Time to be clutch again! Youβre our last hope.
And the Crew fails miserably, again. Swept by Philly
Typical. If the universe has taught me one immutable truth after 46 years as a Brewers fan, when the pressure is on, Brewers gonna Brewer.
ugggh.
Yelich struck out swinging
Adames struck out looking
good time for a day off tomorrow
Well this series was definitely a measuring stick. Young guns in the lineup have some growing to do yet.
I'm not looking forward to July and what they do with Adames. Word is that the Brewers tried extending him over the winter but they couldn't agree on terms. So if he's pricing himself out of our small market team, it leaves two options. 1- play out the season and he walks for nothing. 2- trade him and the clubhouse implodes ala the Hader trade.

Lost the must win game, seasons over.

I believe the front office would give Adames a Qualifying Offer which he would most likely not accept. Then if he signed with another team, the Brewers would get a comp pick, either after Round 1 or after Competitive Round Balance B (before the third round).
Extra picks are a big deal, but especially for small market teams.
@ammo posted:Robert Gasser to 15 IL with a flexor strain. Ashby and Meyers recalled. Jason Junk also sent back to AAA. What next????
Robert Gasser is on his way to Los Angeles for a second opinion with Neal ElAttrache on his left flexor strain.

DL Hall will be headed out later today to see ElAttrache, as well.
Would not be surprised if neither is pitching until 2026.

Thanks for that - I wasn't sure how that would all work out if Adames just plays out the season. Good to know there would be something they'd get back anyway.

Brandon Woodruff, Robert Gasser, DL Hall, and Wade Miley could be a very good rotation along with Peralta after they red-shirt this year and Devin Williams should be well rested to close games as well.
If Yelich would have to go back on the IL for any reason with the other players currently on it, the Brewers would be in a position where they'd have 51 million of payroll on the active roster and 51 million on the IL.
4 starting pitchers and 3 relief pitchers on the IL before the season is even half over has to be approaching some type of record.
Next man up and all that.
Yet the injured, banged up pitching crew held up well against the Phillies, and others. It's the bats that have failed. Had the offense done anything they would be much better off.
