If he gets a win against the Lions he will tie for third-most wins in NFL history for a rookie coach.   Here are the 13 win coaches and the record of their teams in the previous season.

(2011) Jim Harbaugh - 2010 record of 6-10
(1997) Steve Mariucci - 1996 record of 12-4
(2019) Matt LaFleur - 2018 record 6-9-1

1st year coaches with 14 wins:

(2009) Jim Caldwell - 2008 record of 12-4
(1989) George Seifert - 1988 record of 10-6

Looking at that, you could safely argue that he and Harbaugh have had the best rookie campaigns in the history of the NFL.   Marriccci had Steve Young, Jerry Rice, Rod Woodson, Brent Jones and on and on.    Seifert inherted a super bowl winning team.   Caldwall had Manning and Wayne in their prime.    What Harbaugh did was probably the most impressive as MLF has Rodgers.

I have heard MLF is now in the conversation for Coach of the Year on several national shows now including Mike Florio, which probably kills him to utter that.

I don't know if he will win that but he's setting one hell of a bar in accomplishments in his first year.

You have to put what MLF has done up against any other candidate in the league.  Coming into an organization as a 1st year head coach and having to build a relationship with a guy like AR is a massive task in and of itself.  Winning the division and most likely getting a 1st round bye is pretty damn impressive.

Ask McVay has fast new film gets old.

Best news is GB has Rodgers. This draft is deep at OT and WR. And if Dylan Moses is there at the end of round 1.....

MLF just needs to keep reinventing things. Not an easy job because things get old fast in the NFL.

Huge amount, and it’s led to Mr Jones leading the league in TDs.    Last week we ar at the 11 or so.   I say to my dad who’s in town for holidays, don’t forget about Jones down here.   Boom, 11 or so yard TD run,,    In years past that’s 3 passes.

MLF has done more than pay lip service; he's actually done it. And when he admitted he should have called more runs, in the next game he did it. And while it appears he hasn't quite gotten rid of all Rodgers' bad habits, MLF has made big steps in the right direction. Rodgers has even said, "I have to become more of a game manager." Who would have ever thought they'd hear those words from his mouth?

I would have been happy with eight wins and seeing improvement; 12-3 at this point? Pipe dream!

It's fun to see how MLF has changed not only the culture but that Rodgers does not have to be a superstar every game to win. Call it winning ugly, winning in different ways, whatever... it's far better than watching Rodgers play lights out as the team goes 6-9-1.
