How many times will Mike say they'll "get it fixed"?

-Not happy with TOs (safety and INT)

-Bulaga may go at practice on Wednesday (really??? - I doubt this happens).  Says it's not a major injury

……just tune it out.

Gap between how Bryan (Bulaga) feels and how othe medical staff feels. Wednesday's practice will give better indication. Bryan wants to try to go Wednesday.

MM calling out the coaching and the tackling

was just asked if he was happy with the defense "Well....No"

MM just revealed that the D had only 10 guys on the field for one of Seattle's TD's. Unbelievable

If Lacy is "clearing concussion protocols", does that mean he may not have HAD a concussion or he is in the early stages of recovering from it?  I worry about that guy's head.  It's his only potential achilles heal.

Called out the fact that the team wasn't better prepared for the environment. Thought they were, but they weren't. Then went into how they failed with the fundamentals/tackling

MM was asked if Brad Jones quad injury played a role into his performance, to which MM goes off on the reporter and says ""don't ask me those kind of questions." and then says that's getting into schematics and that we don't need to get into that.

Ya Mike, because Brad Jones SUCKS!

That's hardly a serious indictment of the coaching staff.

Ted has been excellent at finding defensive backs, wide receivers, TE's, and interior OL.

He been terrible at DE and LB (CMIII aside). This goes back to his days with guys like Brandon Chiller. And that goes back to when John Schneider and Reggie were both here. What the hell he sees in Brad Jones and why he won't consider pushing AJ Hawk out as a starter is beyond me.

Maybe you fail with Barrington or Bradford or Lattimore or Mulamba. But really,  could they be any worse then Jones?

Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke to the media on Friday following Packers' 36-16 loss to Seattle. Here are some highlights:

Opening statement:

Overview of the football game, just got done completing the evaluation of the football game. The two biggest things that stand out for us is the fundmentals in operation to start the game. We didn't handle the environment as a coaching staff. We stretched our defense out. That falls under coaching. The second place is the fundamentals of football. Tackling, we had way too many missed tackles and the fundamnetals of footwork in practice every day didn't carry onto the field. The turnover and safety obviously factored in. We didn't play very well against a good football team in a tough environment. There are things that are correctable. We can look at the preseason, play style and areas of emphasis were evident, but not last night. We're 0-1 and we're excited about our opener against the New York Jets.

On Bryan Bulaga:

Wednesday's practice will give us a better indication of Bryan Bulaga. I know he'd like to try to go on Wednesday but we have to see how he reacts. It's not a major injury. We're relieved by that.

On Eddie Lacy:

I was told Eddie Lacy feels very good today. He's already started the concussion protocol and cleared the first step. The biggest thing is anybody, particularly Eddie Lacy we were always going to go through the process. We don't take unnecessary risk for the players.

On Corey Linsley:

Corey did a lot of good things. I thought he did well. I was happy with his performance and stepped up to the plate. I thought he did a good job.

On tackling:

Reality of tackling, I know everyone has an opinion of it, the footwork is a key component of all your fundamentals whether it's blocking, getting off blocks, sustaining blocks. It's no different than ball security. In regards to tackling, frankly the biggest thing that jumps out on film is we didn't run through the tackle. If you start leaving your feet to tackle people, the biggest part of our tackling is our footwork and running through the near hip. We didn't do a very good job of it.

On defense schematically:

We were not sharp. I think some of it clearing started with our communication from the boundary. They make late substitutions, which creates later communication in the defense. I think our players were unsettled and frankly I didn't feel we got into the flow we needed to.

On having wrong personnel:

It wasn't the wrong personnel – it was getting the call in. As far as them catching us and what we were trying to do with personnel, that wasn't a huge issue.

On going away from 3-4 Okie for more 4-3:

We're an Okie defense. Just because you play a four man look, it's still Okie personnel. It's really in line with what we talked about in the spring, we're utilizing our players. We're doing things that are best suited for our players. It's one game. We have a big commitment. That's what coaching is.

On not throwing toward Richard Sherman:

It was more of a decision to put Jordy Nelson the left and see if he was going to come over to play him. No-huddle, it's easier for receivers to stay on one side of the line. We wanted to run our stuff and line up as quickly as we could. I thought Aaron Rodgers did a good job working through communication problems.

On Sherrod playing if Bulaga is out:

If Bryan Bulaga doesn't go, Derek Sherrod will handle right tackle. I think Derek will play better than this week. There were some things weren't in tune with.

On Brad Jones:

Brad Jones didn't have his best game as far as we call things.

I would not want McCarthy's job today.  I don't fault this answer one bit.  It wasn't really a question, more of a, "Hey Mike, can you comment on why Brad Jones sucks ass?"

Pete Carroll: Seahawks didn’t tackle well enough vs. Packers

The Seahawks look like the best team in the NFL, but coach Pete Carroll says they can get better.

Specifically, Carroll says the Seahawks could tackle better than they did on Thursday night against the Packers. According to Carroll, Packers running back Eddie Lacy

“I was disappointed that we bounced off the guy as much as we did,” Carroll said.

“We tried to hit him more than tackle him and that’s why he was a little more effective than he should have been. [Lacy] only gained [34] yards, so it’s no big deal, but our expectations are higher than that. Those guys will all look at that film and they’ll all be disappointed that they didn’t stay with the tackling plan that we had.”

Carroll is a connoisseur of fine tackling, and it’s not surprising that he saw some things on Thursday night that the Seahawks’ defense could have done better. But if the Seahawks are going to get even better on defense than they were against the Packers, that’s a scary thought for the rest of the NFL.

Wonder what he would have thought about GB's tackling...

I thought Aaron Rodgers did a good job working through communication problems.

Oh that's interesting. Seattle jamming communication? Much in the same way New England does in Foxboro?

This has been happening with alarming regularity to teams on the road. From what I can gather it's not an issue at Lambeau for either team.

Well maybe it ought to be.

There was a lot of "what?" body language from Nelson and Rodgers as if they couldn't hear each other or didn't know the play call.  I couldn't tell if it was genuine or an act, as I have seen Jordy pull once in a while before a back shoulder pass.

Poor coaching and lack of discipline....running into the punter, 13 men on the field on ST(requiring use of TO), 10 men on field for Lynch's TD stroll, going for it on 4th down at mid field in close game was bad timing, not giving Sherrod help essentially led to the game getting out-of-hand(he was embarrassing). and....the thing that bothered me most(if there is such a thing when everything is going wrong) was this :  it's one thing that Brad Jones is absolutely lost out there, but when he commits several game changing penalties that extend Seattle's possession at a critical point, no move was made to remove him. Poor play is one thing, but being accountable as a coach and teacher means making a correction at the critical moment. Jones was left to wallow in his incompetence and hurt his team by being not only bad, but stupid !!  Lost a bit of respect for McCarthy at that moment.

Overall a poor job by the entire staff and the Bevell vs. Capers matchup was a rout. He also didn't do a very good job in the game there two years ago and going into Seattle seems to bring out the worst in him.

Wes asked the question.  I believe Quad is the name of the package they play with four lineman.  Later in the presser another reporter asked  if they had a name for their four man front, MM said "Why don't you ask Wes?"

Their big secret is that they're using a four man front?  Really?   It's not like they didn't talk about using the elephant in the off season. How about skip all this tricky dick bull**** and do a better job with the fundamentals.  Year after year after year this team can't tackle out of the gate.
