I don't know why X4 fans love to hash and rehash their moments of misery...but you do. Its weird. Y'all could have talked about the good plays from Burnett...
The Morgan Burnett thang stems from the meeting the night before the playoff game where the HC told everybody:
"If you get your hands on a fumble/INT just go down. We'll give the ball to Rodgers and the offense and let them take care of business."
Peppers was merely carrying out the HC's wishes when he signaled to Burnett to go down. And because Burnett heard the HC comments, he was quick to follow the plan.
It was a critical coaching mistake...because every SB winner ever has gotten big play contributions from the defense and special teams.
Thanks Satori for that info. I had never heard that before. McCarthy made several coaching errors that day, and that kind of decision in advance OF THE SITUATION is idiotic. Burnett WOULD HAVE TAKEN THAT in for SIX POINTS.
