Thanks Tdog.

I used two camera/lens combos that day:

Canon 7D + 400 f/4L DO IS
Canon 5DII + 70-200 f/2.8L IS

And actually, it's a funny story....I got a lot of "looks" regarding the 400mm lens. One of the security guys walked past a couple times and was checking it out, eventually coming back with a tape measure. There's a rule both at practices and games that no lenses over 12 inches are allowed. Fortunately, this particular 400mm uses diffractive optics so it's smaller than most 400's, and is only about 9 inches in length (with the hood removed), so he was fine with it. But with the hood attached it does draw attention.

Pics are fantastic. Thanks for posting. I couldn't help read this and not think of an old Steve Martin stand up routine.

Ok, I don’t like to gear my material to the audience but I’d like to make an exception because I was told that there is a convention of plumbers in San Francisco this week – I understand about 30 of them came down to the show tonight – so before I came out I worked-up a joke especially for the plumbers. Those of you who aren’t plumbers probably won’t get this and won’t think it’s funny, but I think those of you who are plumbers will really enjoy thisâ€Ķ

“This lawn supervisor was out on a sprinkler maintenance job and he started working on a Findlay sprinkler head with a Langstrom 7â€ģ gangly wrench. Just then, this little apprentice leaned over and said, “You can’t work on a Findlay sprinkler head with a Langstrom 7â€ģ wrench.” Well this infuriated the supervisor, so he went and got Volume 14 of the Kinsley manual, and he reads to him and says, “The Langstrom 7â€ģ wrench can be used with the Findlay sprocket.” Just then, the little apprentice leaned over and said, “It says sprocket not socket!”
You're welcome everybody, thanks for the kind words.

I agree that the bike pics never get old. Did you notice how most of the bike tires are nearly flat on the rim because of how heavy the players are? Note to self when my kid gets old enough to do this...pump them tires up more for the big event!

Regarding getting to a game this year, I sure hope so!

Thanks for the bump, and also for tipping us to Smugmug!
Can I share the link to your gallery on facebook? (I'd have to share the password as well--but you know that).

Everyone should see these, especially non-football fans, because the ones with the players on the bikes would raise a lot of eyebrows.

Brilliant work!

Thanks for asking...please don't post to facebook, I do galleries like this for my family, friends, and X4. And maybe someday to get a press pass to actually shoot a game from the sidelines.
