I would like to see us sign Michael Bush, RB and then have Justin Blackmon drop to us at 5 and draft him. Wow, that offense could do well.

Blount and Bush punishing the defense...
V-Jax and Blackmon...threats all over the field..
Winslow... the possession receiver
Joseph and Nicks, the two Pro Bowlers on the offensive line..

Nice dream, no?

The reality is they take Trent Richardson at 5 in the draft and we have Blount and Richardson...to go with VJax and Williams and Benn...Does not sound as nice.

Grave Digger,

Schiano wants a punishing ground game. You can't add Nicks and not get a threat like Richardson. Claiborne would have been the choice had they not been able to sign FA CB Eric Wright IMHO. Heck, maybe they could draft Justin Blackmon and then go get Doug Martin RB from Boise in the second round? I would be okay with that. I think he has a chip on his shoulder.

They might need a RB, but no way would I pass up an elite corner prospect in favor of a guy like Richardson. Claiborne is the logical choice there and BTW Eric Wright might be one of the most overrated corners in the league anyway.

Richardson is best RB in a so-so RB class. You can find good RBs through other channels.

If you chart Pro Bowl caliber DBs most of them were not only high draft picks but usually taken top 15 picks. Our guy Tramon Williams is really an outlier and not the norm.

Troy Vincent, Champ Bailey, Darrell Revis, Chuck Woodson- some guys that are the best corners over the last 20 years all fit that bill.
