pre draft: "I'm ready to get back to camp. I'm a hybrid DB, I'll probably get to compete for  some action on the boundary, I'll be returning kicks and get to play special teams coverage. Everything's coming up Mycah!"

after Round one: "I'm still clear for boundary work and special teams, it's all good."

after Round two: "Well, they still have confidence in my special teams play, at least. They surely noticed my return skills."

after  Round three: "Okay, so they got a new guy for kick returns. Still, they have to love my coverage skills."

after Round four: "Noooooooooooo, why have you forsaken me Ted Thompson? Is it because I'm from Iowa?"

Micah is just pissed because his spots on the Packers softball and basketball teams are completely gone. Hyde wasn't getting it done at shortstop or coming off the bench as a Guard, so they replaced him.

It was a joke during the draft & I didn't catch every post in the draft thread but I think someone from timesfour posted "Why does TT hate Micah Hyde?" (or words to that effect) because TT drafted 2 hybrid DB's.

Micah is a damn good football player & he isn't going anywhere so it's just a running gag at this point.

Feel free to chime in, if I missed anything.

2 hybrid DBs followed by a WR/KR/PR specialist in the first three picks and the writing was on the wall. On top of Teds hatred of him it was speculated that Micah was racist. In fairness however it was pointed out that Micah had done some good work as a babysitter, so it wasn't all bad. Things kind of hit rock bottom when the coach of an offensive UDFA said he had "safety like skills" as a reciever. Jumal Rolle wrapped things up with a tweet telling Micah he knew the feeling.

All in all, just a good running joke that picked up momentum for 3 solid days. I think...

'Ka-Bong was on it like a racist pit bull.

I'm not one to repeat rumors, but I have a very good source inside the locker room that told me a guy he knows in the beer sales department has a friend's sister who told him that Micah Hyde may have told some very racist jokes about Jordy Nelson that didn't go over well, as Nelson's kind of a sensitive mama's boy. Despite that, I do not think there is any hardcore solid proof that Micah Hyde is a racist.

Yep, it was fun. I like Micah Hyde, and though I do doubt he has the speed to play outside, it's highly unlikely he's going anywhere soon. Heck, even if the rookies were to beat him out for scrimmage snaps he's a younger, cheaper Jarrett Bush.
