Not cool & this deserves its own thread

This agent is a D bag who got banned before. I think the article I read said he has a whopping 2 players to his name. He deserves none. There are some good agents in the NFL. This is clearly not one of them.
While not illegal, this a-hole should deserve to have the 2 players he has swiped from him. Unless I am a total idiot, no way in hell would I have this jag represent me.
Well he did do the best for his client. But if I was an NFL GM I'd never deal with him again. That is what will make him give up his role as an agent.
Shady tactics to say the least....but every day NFL owners tear up big money contracts and players have to start over. Until they have to honor contracts like beisibol....no tears to shed for big money NFL owners.
I agree with the Iowa dumdum. The article indicates NFL team executives have butt hurt because the agent gave them his "word." Where is the "word" when teams send players down the road packing because the contract they agreed to becomes too expensive?
They all understand guaranteed -vs- non-guaranteed money.
Shady ethics from an agent when millions of dollars are at stake?

Do agents take their cut as a percentage of the contract? That would explain the bloated late year salaries that no one ever seems to collect.

I follow Andrew Brandt on Twitter. He answers this every few days. Agents only get a cut of what is paid to the player. Inflated numbers at the end of the contract is nothing more than a recruiting tactic for the agent.
Until they have to honor contracts
I find it hard to believe I'm still hearing this. The contract the player signed states that they can be terminated at any time. So the contract is being honored. Contract employees in high tech jobs face this all the time. Yeah, the NFL should be more like MLB. Sheesh.
So if a contract is not really a contract. A verbal agreement should be held to a higher standard until the contract that is not a contract is signed...got it.
sheesh
The terms of the contract are well known and are met. One of the clauses says it can be terminated by the team. What don't you understand? This type of situation exists all over the place. If the player doesn't like a clause in the contract, he doesn't have to sign it.
Once again, I have no sympathy for the club. As IC pointed out, these contracts always favor the team as they have the right to terminate it but the player doesn't.
There is no loyalty in business, the players should take all they can from the teams while they can.
peanuts are yummy
I agree. The flip side of the club being able to terminate the contract is that the players get signing bonuses up front.

Well, if the player doesn't like the terms of the deal, he can always put his edgeyoukashun to work for him.
edgeyoukashun?
I don't speak Inuit.
Hopefully you're not that brain dead.
Several reports suggested that the Broncos had no idea Weinberg had verbally agreed to another deal previously, but Denver still intended to sign Sanders to a three-year deal pending passing a physical. The signing became official Sunday.
I doubt the Packers were ever considering Reggie Wayne and the report(s) were based on comments from Wayne's agent to force the Pats hand.
As Boris has said, probably 100 times by now, agents know Thompson and co. will not deny these reports so they spread them to their/clients advantage.
What does Natasha think about that?

"Allow me to introducing myself. I am Boris Badenov, world's greatest no-goodnik
Boris would also say, "Sharrup you mouth!" to Natasha when his schemes failed
So, what does Natasha think about that?
"Natasha, next time I get fiendish plan, do me big favor? Sharrup my mouth!"
