The guy had nowhere to go but up after last year. He has improved considerably. His first two weeks were a huge test. A little shaky at times but even the best are going to fail against Peppers and the Smiths.

Now just imagine Sherrod coming back and making that same jump. Suddenly we have three really good players and one is going to be a backup. Irresponsible depth.

Offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse had the third lowest Pass Blocking Efficiency for tackles in 2011 at 92.2, as he allowed 57 total pressures on 576 pass plays. This year has been significantly better as he’s up to 96.3 which is above average, and has just allowed eight total pressures on 181 pass plays. -profootballfocus.com
I'd imagine a good portion of those came in the 49ers game. He seems to have improved by the week.
He ha lot of trouble against Seattle too but hard to credit him with a pressure or sack when Bulaga's man was there even quicker.

Newhouse is a good backup tackle and I think could be good on thge right side but he's kind of scary on the left side as a starter. Hopefully Sherrod can get healthy and take the position for the next decade as I don't think Newhouse has the mobility/athleticism Sherrod does. I look at Newhouse kind of like a Jeff Backus, good overall lineman but not the guy you ideally want manning your left ourtside spot.

Well he was getting beat by just about everybody last year, didn't matter who it was.

So i'd say he's definitely improved from the sieve he was a year ago.

From another article on PFF about PBE:

the Packers will be hoping Bryan Bulaga finds his 2011 form and quickly. He’s regressed as fast as Newhouse has improved.

Bulaga was awful the first few games of the year, but he's been getting better week by week. Hopefully that continues. Especially against Chris Long and Co. this weekend.
