Considering the craziness of this year, it would make perfect sense.
I think everyone remembers the Seahawks making the playoffs with a 7-9 record in 2010, and that remains the worst record to make the playoffs.
The NFCE champ may best that by 2-3 games.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the NFL add some kind of eligibility rule for division winners and playoffs starting next year. Like you need to win 7 games AND your division to be guaranteed a playoff spot. Doubt they ever imagined an entire division being THIS bad.
