SAN FRANCISCO -- The 49ers and the NFL have adopted extraordinary security measures for Sunday’s NFC Championship against the Giants after opposing fans complained of harassment by unruly 49ers faithful last week.

Undercover police will be dressed in Giants’ garb and on the lookout for nasty fans. Giants ticketholders will be handed a card as they enter Candlestick Park with details on how to contact police if they feel threatened. And more security cameras and undercover police officers will be in place to identify abusive fans.

I've got an idea!!! Don't let fans attend games. Just have the two teams play in an empty stadium and broadcast it. There. All problems solved.

The Eagles & Raider games are going to have some very empty stadiums. It'll look like a strike/replacement game.

I don't know if it'll work for a Raiders game. They'd need the National Guard to have enough guys to enforce it and all those crewcuts would stick out in Oaktown.

I'd be happy to do an evaluation on Viking fans to determine which ones should be allowed to attend games. I can think of a few players that should have been evaluated too.

Yeah, who wants to get rid of people looking to start fist fights, throw batteries and other foreign objects and other activities that would generally get you arrested in public?

Did it in soccer! Riots in soccer left more than 70 dead, so... no more fans.
