I don't know... So I'll ask the experts.

When an NFL player gets injured, are their medical expenses covered 100% by the team or are they required to carry some sort of medical insurance?

Nick Collins for instance. I'm sure his medical bills are well over 100k by now. Do the Packers foot that bill?

Team doctors paid by the team. If you get hurt on the football field I believe the team picks up the tab.

I'm certain the players buy insurance for their families.

These are my best guesses.

I'm not sure that is the case. I have heard from a pretty reliable source that in most cases the doctor pays the team for the right to be their team doctor. The prestige and advertising they get for being a team doctor is worth the price they pay. What better way to promote your practice than to advertise that you are a NFL team doctor.

Irregardless of the OP, this is probably the best place for this.

The use of knee braces by the WIS OL has been discussed here, and many have wondered why they are not in wider use with NFL players. After Tretter's knee at the end of the ATL game, seems it is time for McCarthy and the Packers to consider this.

I've heard that college coaches pretty much require linemen to wear them, while in the pros it's optional. I've read that NFL guys say the braces limit movement, but I think it's more of a mental thing than anything else. Heck, considering the way those guys get leg-whipped and the way other guys fall on their legs all the time, I'd strongly consider going Belichek and making them wear braces to protect the team's investment. I would think the players would want to protect their income and jobs as well.
