That would be a HUGE splash for Cincy if they pull the trigger on a Jennings deal. The flipside to that is Mike Brown is notorious for being a cheap bastard. Meanwhile, Miami is $44 million under the cap and I see Jennings going there instead to be reunited with Philbin.

Nice find!

It sure seems that the Fins, would be a good fit. If he goes to cincy, that division is STACKED!

How are the Rams over the cap???? And the Pokes and Aints are over the cap by 20+M???? WOW!!!
According to the link, the Saints are #30 with $20.6 million over the cap. This can be remedied by having players like Will Smith, Jonathan Vilma and Roman Harper restructure their contracts to the veteran minimum. Otherwise, it's "Thanks for the memories" and then give ourselves a mass infusion of youth.
You might get them to restructure, but I doubt that they will take the vet min. No way does a vet go from being one of the highest paid players on the team to the lowest paid player in one season.

This will be the same with CWood, he'll have to restructure, no way would he accept the vet min.

NO Salaries

And he shouldn't accept Vet Min. He still can play at a high level IMO. Guys who deserve Vet Minimum are guys like Howard Green who still have some left in the tank, but are mostly done. Wood can still play. Does that mean he's worth 10 million? No. His base salary is 6.5 million, I think, which is pretty fair for him. If he will restructure to reduce his cap number to right around 6 million, that will help a lot.
I keep wanting to believe that Charles still has it... and that his knowledge and savvy make up for any declining speed... but this last season did nothing to reassure me and I'm totally on the fence about him. I need to see him do it again. All I keep seeing is his really bad decision in the playoff game v SF when he got conned into flowing outside and Crabtree caught a pass and walked right into the EZ, right where Charles should have been. But in TT I will trust.
I think part of it could be the position flip flopping. Sometimes he is a Safety, sometimes he covers the Slot, sometimes he's this, sometimes he's that. It reminds me of the flip flopping they did with TJ Lang. Let the guy settle into a position. If his future is at Safety I think they need to tell him he's moving full time to FS and ask him to come to the voluntary workouts and work on it. Spend an offseason doing nothing but studying the position, working out with teammates, and learning his new position and I think he will do a great job. Constantly flip flopping him around, using him this way, kind of using him as a Safety, etc. doesn't allow him to really nail down how play Safety. JMO.
Say what you will about CheeseheadTV, but this entry is well worth the read. It's basically asking how Ted is going to handle this next phase of his tenure as the Packers GM now that his draft and develop model has produced three draft picks who have developed into All Pros requiring huge deals. It's a good problem to have, but he now has to spend like Snyder just to keep the nucleus intact rather than add to it.

I think the best question this blog poses is whether TT can look at his own guys with the same bottom-line, all-business view he took with Sherman's guys. For example, if Longwell was getting too expensive for his asking price given his limitations, what does that say about Crosby? I really can't compare Sharper and Woodson, but it's the same general idea for this particular argument.
