pretty naΓ―ve to think this couldn't/wouldn't/won't happen in Green Bay.
rong
in Green Bay its the fans that get the DUI....
And there would be no suspicion, full commitment.
DUI at 7 A.M. after a car crash, probably on his way into practice for the day, must have been a pretty good all nighter. Or, at minimum not enough time to sober up after partying hard into the wee hours of the night. Also, I see now he was also charged with posession of pot. Dumb, just plain dumb. Forty Whiner people all the way.
Well, that just made this a heck of a lot more serious. Looks like it's the Seahawks who are now the team to beat.

With Smith however it's getting to be quite the laundry list.
This is his 2nd DUI.
He's being sued for hosting a wild house party where Smith was shot and apparently created a crossfire where the victim was injured. That party he was stabbed not once but twice and due to "snitches get stitches" mantra amongst his "friends" the real story there will likely never come out.
He was passenger in a car that flipped over where drugs/blame it on the alcohol were also involved.
Add that all up=T U R D
And there would be no suspicion, full commitment.
Damn straight!! If you're gonna do something, don't do it half-ass.
Never met a smart person that smoked dope
you don't get out much
Even if he were a Packer, I'd say the guy might be a bit out of control and needs something like a brief jail sentence to get his attention. Perhaps he's one of those guys that thinks he's too good for rules, or maybe he genuinely has some sort of addiction problem. If he gets suspended, I hope someone figures out how to get through to him because he might just end up killing someone like the Cowboys D-Lineman did.
As an aside, I've always thought the "Packer People" thing was a bunch of garbage. Maybe the Pack isn't looking for all 53 guys on their team to have borderline personality disorders, but make no mistake, the Pack doesn't have all angels and choirboys. Maybe they're not the Bengals, but they will take a chance on a Johnny Jolly, a Koren Robinson, a Brandon Underwood, if they think he can help their team.

I'd bet you have, just aren't aware. Those stoners are crafty...
Says fans of a team with a guy on their roster who just spent three years in prision for chemical use/abuse/"intent to distribute".
pwned
How will SFO handle this? Last year 9ers DT DeMarcus Dobbs had a similar arrest (drugs and single-car accident). He did not travel with them for a game in STL. Would they sit Smith this weekend vs IND?
Hersh - Jolly paid his dues and really hurt no one but himself with his purple drank addiction. Do you really believe he had intent to distribute? That charge more likely came from the qty he had and not from a deal gone wrong or sting w/police. Also, AFAIK Jolly has no DUIs and no shooting guns at people or in a house, and getting stabbed. By all accounts Jolly has turned his life around and accepted his addiction, while Smith continues to be stupid.
I don't think he was dealing, which is why I put it in quotes. It takes a lot of sizzurp to satisfy the big man. Jolly was rodding around with thuglife pals as well though and was driving on the purple drank. He's 30 now, which can also make a difference.
There's no shortage of knuckleheads in the NFL. Young, dumb and a pocketfull of benjamins isn't often a good mix and the Packers have their share. Part of the reason they feel they can get away with it it because they already have so many times, most even back to high school, let alone major college programs. Heck, one of my HS friends was a RA in the football players dorm at FSU and it was pretty interesting how many times cops brought players home, no questions asked, and other shenanigans.
Well, they did make these a marketable product.

Now we know...
-- Harbaugh said he's "disappointed" in incident involving Aldon Smith; anticipates LB will play Sunday.
-- Harbaugh said the NFL has exclusivity when it comes to punishment in such matters.
I guess the team punishing Dobbs (primarily a ST player) last year is different than the team (NFL exclusivity ya know) punishing Smith (37 career sacks) this year.

Addicts can be rehabilitated... stupid is forever.

IowaCheese isn't smart and he doesn't smoke dope
Can anybody explain that ?
This is just a wild guess... he's from Iowa?
Dope is as dope does.
(No escaping you're a dope when you're on it- from a lifelong inhaler.)
Ok, ok.... clean the first 16.

it's all one bad pattern.
he can't see it, he's on top of the world.

Pretty good bet liquor wasn't the only thing he had on board:
Police say Smithβs blood-alcohol level was .15, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Thatβs nearly twice the legal limit.
One would think someone with a person who was that drunk at that time of day would struggle to practice later in the day, but Smith did hit the practice field after making bail, and 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said Smith βseemed like he had his wits about him.β
According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, a neighbor who witnessed the accident said Smithβs foot was still on the accelerator of his SUV, which was against a tree, when police arrived. That caused the tires to smoke, and that suggests that Smith (who also had marijuana and pills in his possession) was seriously impaired.
The fk will end up killing someone. This is BS!
I'm sure Badall will do the right thing: he'll let him play this weekend against Indy.....then, analyze the evidence and wait for his plea. If he pleas NOT Guilty...he'll have to wait until the jury trial OR he makes a deal. Then, Badall should suspend him at least 4 games.
This is the second offense for DUI. However, would it be more games IF the other crimes are brought up?
I'm no expert on Aldon's story but I think I read the previous DUI was reduced to just reckless driving. I don't find the foot on the gas that unusual - he hit a tree and was probably knocked out a bit or confined in his movement. He's big guy.
Thug life indeed
he is a really good player but sounds like a turd
Bring me champagne when I'm thirsty.
Bring me reefer when I want to get high.
But don't drive...that's a problem.
I'm amazed at how well people can play while imbibing on a regular basis...I must be getting old....49ers are playing on the wrong side of the bay...and they are good...but they are about two injuries or episodes away from being about average.

I hear that. Never had nothing for energy the next day after a good kegger - high school or college. But different people and different chemistry. Got friends that I would think would be crippled the next day after a good one and they're up at 6am doing physical labor and you wouldn't know the difference.

Didn't say it couldn't, however, this is just the tip for Alden Smiff. The guy is trouble. Given we have Johnny Jolly, I'm not going to cast stones, however, JJ seems to have gotten his stuff together, and the guy was a straight up addict.

I wonder if they bothered to do the concussion protocol on this guy.
Pretty clear that the 49ers care about winning more than anything else, including player safety and discipline. That's the 9er way.
POSbaugh should not have let him play vs the colts....damn disciplinarians
Harbaugh let him start as a going away present. He's a player coach. When Aldon get's back Jimmy's going to make sure there's a gift basket of Humboldt's finest, Jonnie Walker Black, and a fake drivers license in his locker.
