Why is this a positive?

Because the team still found a way to win. Statistically it was the 8th-worst game of his career, but the team was strong enough to win even on a day when they had to carry him instead of the other way around. That bodes well on a lot of levels, IMO.

Good point. All I heard all week was that Rodgers would need to carry the team this week. Not enough respect for the defense and ST's.

Tell ya what tho. I was worried Shields would blow it. He should have taken a knee. He extended the uncertainty of the outcome by continuing the play. Just like the dude for the Chargers did (against the Patriots).

He's got a little Sharper in him. At least Shields is young, Sharper didn't have that excuse when he used to do it.

And he seems to be a hell of a quick study. It's pretty rare that he makes the same mistake twice.

I just thought of something - do you guys remember that when we signed him as a free agent, the other team that was aggressively pursuing him was the Bears? I think Mr. Shields made the correct decision.
+
Sam Shields
Raji - the fridge is dead, we got the Freezer! (love it!)
The opening drive
defense, defense
Starks, Jackson, both came up with big runs

-
missed about three, third and short plays that would extended drives and probably led to at least 6 more points.

the DD, shoe-top interception

Urlachers' pick.

This game should not have been this close, but heck.. its on the road, vs the Bears defense.

Its easy to say we should make those plays, but its something that happens agin the Bears.
The Packers winning this game means so much more- I was saying this earlier: the danger in playing such an historic game is that someone else will be remembered for winning it. The Catch II, Elway's first SB win, 4th and 26, losing at home to the Giants... all these bitter memories go away forever.

They beat the Chicago Bears in Soldier Field to go to the Super Bowl. And they'll be remembered always for doing so...

great point...that was going to be my take, too...

+ no one on our team panicked or started pointing fingers when things started to derail in the 4th quarter...it was a team win with everyone supporting each other....

Yep. Early in the 2nd quarter, 2nd and 13, Rodgers checks down to Jackson for a first down.

Watch that play again if you can. Greatest Brandon Jackson play ever.

Knocked the DL on his ass, made a nice catch, lit up #54, first down Packers.

Greatest play ever.

I loved the replay. First they thought that Urlacher slipped and then they are like "I guess he didn't". I loved that play.
