Wow, never would have thought we had a chance at Van Pelt after McAdoo got moved to QB's. Great hire!

(side note: I got Van Pelt's autograph about ten years ago after a Bills game. Cool guy!)
Interesting. A good sign.

@BobMcGinn: When NYG lost QB coach M. Sullivan to TB, NY called to interview Alex Van Pelt. He was about to interview w/GB. When GB offered RBs, VP took it.

Need to recalibrate your brain. Since GB is winning program good coaches and players generally want to go where the going is good. Notice how many are jumping ship - 1. And that after all the spec about guys going elsewhere.

BTW, Moss wants to come back. Now is the time to add that "missing piece".
As a coach, I'm assuming Van Pelt would like to be HEAD coach someday. Coaching the RB's adds another notch to his resume'. Makes him more attractive in the future for a possible head position or OC.
GB is a heavy passing team. RBs are very important in pass protection. Fontenot, a former OL, worked well coaching protection schemes. One of the first things Van Pelt said when he took the job was about pass protection. I expect he'll do well. I imagine that RBs don't need much coaching running the ball, which is why we often see rookies put up big numbers in year 1. Where they need help is in the passing game. I would think a former QB would be near ideal in this role.
