To get a special team you need special players.
Unless there is clear data saying special teams plays are more dangerous than normal plays, I don't know why you don't use your best players on every play you can.
Nobody worried about Deion Sanders returning punts when he was the best cover corner in the league.

They dumped the ship horn in the preseason. The games I was at this year they just used video clips of the players to prompt for crowd noise.
