Braun had surgery, I assume he will throw the surgeon under the buss if he bat .260 next year
Just as an FYI, I am told #Brewers Ryan Braun did have his lower back procedure and everything went well.

With Yadiel Rivera playing a ton of 3B in Arizona, makes you wonder if he has foot in the door to see action there next year.

Should not surprise anyone
In latest Inside Baseball column, @JonHeymanCBS quotes #Brewers David Stearns as saying SS Orlando Arcia slated to open 2016 at AAA level.
β Tom (@Haudricourt) November 11, 2015
"We gave him a shot in center field last year and I think he proved that he can do it if we need him to do it," said Stearns of Santana. "He is probably best suited for a corner, but he does provide us an option if we chose to go that way."
Frees up a spot to either protect someone or take a guy in Rule 5.

Brewers trade for another middle infielder. This time it's Jonathan Villar, acquired from the Astros for MiLB righty Cy Sneed.
β Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) November 19, 2015
Villar's versatility "opens up options" for rest of Brewers offseason, Stearns said. Is everyday 3B one of those options? "Absoluitely."
β Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) November 19, 2015
I'll toss this is for #Brewers fans who like to know how to pronounce their players' names. Villar is pronounced vee-yar.

Stearns trading away TD's favorite mustache = enemies for life
To get overly excited or overly outraged about these trades is energy better used to discuss Olivia Munn. Sardinas was also just traded...
I was just pointing out that the golden ratio is a math term and not a sex act. To bad for you if you were to thick to catch on.
#Brewers add SS Orlando Arcia, RHP Jacob Barnes and RHP Damien Magnifico to 40-man roster, protecting them from Rule 5 draft.
β Tom (@Haudricourt) November 20, 2015
#Brewers opt not protect OF Victor Roache or LHPs Wei-Chung Wang and Brent Suter, who might attract Rule 5 attention.

Greinke is going to get over 200 million for 6 years.
Mariners after Lind. 32 and back issues. Deal him now.
Something we can agree on.
#Brewers GM David Stearns won't talk about trade rumors but there is legitimacy to Seattle being interested in 1B Adam Lind so stay tuned.
β Tom (@Haudricourt) December 7, 2015
adam lind is going to mariners. lower-level prospects believed headed to brewers.
β Jon Heyman (@JonHeymanCBS) December 9, 2015
Someone who would know says Lind hasn't yet been informed he's traded, but @JonHeymanCBS reports agreement is in place for Brewers & M's.
β Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) December 9, 2015
Brewers get 3 teenagers in return for 1B Adam Lind according to Brewers source.
β Jim Bowden (@JimBowden_ESPN) December 9, 2015
#Brewers trade Adam Lind to SEA for three players to be adults later.
β Jim Goulart (@Mass_Haas) December 9, 2015
1B Adam Lind traded to Seattle for RHPs Daniel Missaki, Carlos Herrera and Freddy Peralta. All are under 20 years old. #WinterMeetings
β Milwaukee Brewers (@Brewers) December 9, 2015
That means Will Smith, Khris Davis and Jean Segura are next on the block. Stearns says that Santiago won't be his CF next year, so he has to get one in trade or hope he can get Teoscar Hernandez from his old team the Astro's in the Rule 5 draft ( I think he's available).
I don't think they will move Lucroy until the trade deadline if he returns to form, or somebody knocks Stearns socks off in a Winter deal.
I think Mark is letting Stearns do whatever he wants to do.
as long as he doesn't trade Luc.
Casuals. Al saw this coming long before Stearns was hired.
12/09/2015 02:10:00 PM) - Al
I must admit, I giggle a lot when I see casuals who wonder why the Brewers are not filling 1B/3B "needs" with these trades of Lind, KRod, and so on.
Call it a reset, rebuild, or retool or some other word that probably begins with "re," it's a 68 win team that no longer has Gomez, Fiers, KRod, Parra, and now Lind. Worrying about filling specific positions is like washing and waxing your car every Sunday even though you took the engine out last summer.
Deep down, I think many folks are severely overestimating the length of this process...I think they might be a 85 win team as early as 2017, mostly due to the incredibly haul, five true AA/AAA prospects for Carlos, Mike, and Gerardo late last season. That said, the process is in full swing...it really began last offseason, when they dealt Gallardo.
Side note, Al will soon be educating us on automotive maintenance.
One more trade: Brewers have acquired 3B Garin Cecchini from the Red Sox for cash.
β Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) December 10, 2015
The Brewers have signed 3B Will Middlebrooks to a minor league deal. Was non-tendered by the Padres on Dec. 2.
β Dennis Lin (@dennistlin) December 15, 2015
Could Cecchini be the Brewers' Rizzo?
Happy Holidays to you too Mark.
I think we will look back at 2015 favorably.
Gotta admit, this is fun. Have been envious of other teams with oodles of exciting young prospects coming up. Kid in a candy store.
The #Brewers have acquired OF Keon Broxton and RHP Trey Supak from Pirates in exchange for 1B Jason Rogers. Broxton added to 40-man roster.
β Milwaukee Brewers (@Brewers) December 18, 2015
Broxton is a speedy outfielder who can play center, a Brewers need. Supak was the Pirates' No. 15 prospect. Pretty good haul for Rogers.
β Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) December 18, 2015
No stone unturned with this kid GM!
The Brewers have signed IF Will Middlebrooks and LHP Nick Hagadone to minor lg contracts with invites to ML spring training.
β Brewers Player Dev (@BrewersPD) December 18, 2015
Both members of #RedSox 2007 draft class, Hagadone top pick, Middlebrooks a 5th-rounder. https://t.co/4xO3sU5RFr
