I thought the melt down of the cowpokes talk would be toned down a little this morning, you know the day after and all that, but I guess not. Come on man, give credit where credit is due.....the Packers played their guts out in the 2nd half. D*mn.

If it was reversed and GB had a 23 point halftime lead and MM kept dialing up pass plays, slowing the clock down, and giving Lacy 7 second half carries when he was averaging 7 plus per carry this board would have melted down. The number of posts calling for McCarthy's head would be staggering. Stevie would have iced cookies until 4am.
GB played great in the second half but Dallas did GB all kinds of favors too.
Romo owed us. That was no favor.
I'm used to this. The media loves to beat people up when they're down, in general. Mainly because enough people love to hear/watch it. Also Romo has put himself in this position going back to his infamous botch of a field goal snap leading to the loss against the Seahawks in the NFC playofffs in 2007. So now this recent meltdown supersedes any great comeback by the Pack. But any of us who have watched the Packers continue to frustrate themselves with trying to win in Dallas over the years will savor this one.
The national media is tired and has been of the Packers for while now. The media loves story lines, story wise the Packers are boring. Idiotic owners are always easy and interesting to write about. The Girls historically also been one of the medias favorite teams. The media loves the Giants, Jets, Raiders, NE, SF.
Also from my past experience with national media types like places with warm weather, celebrity, lots of places to drink, but most of all places with a lot of good looking hookers.
I know Dez Bryant is a crybaby, but I actually felt bad for him. He played his butt off and had a great game. That TD at the end was unreal. He put his team in a position to succeed and they let him down...Tony Romo let him down. He needs to control his emotions better, but in my opinion he had every right to react so strongly.
I think if you look at the biggest moments during the comeback you'll find that a lot of it was the result of really nice plays by the Packers.
Jordy's TD catch was spectacular.
Boykin made a couple huge, tough catches.
Datone Jones made a great move on Tyrone Smith to keep Romo in the pocket and get the sack.
Shields INT was pure talent and ability. Probably should've been a Cowboys TD.
The only things you can put on the Cowboys is their defense (which everyone knew was terrible coming in) and Romo's last INT to Tramon.

I agree that the playcalling made it all complete. But the Packers came out inspired in the 2nd half and put the pressure back on the Cowboys to keep scoring in order to maintain their margin. They could have easily faded off when Dallas was matching the Packers O in the 3rd Q.

I do have to add though, I normally loathe NFLN coverage, mainly because of Sapp, Sanders and Irving. It was GOLD watching their gameday postmortem (No Sapp, just Sanders and Irving) melting down on national TV.

Read an article this morning about how Buck and Aikman were bashing the Cowboys for the 2nd half collapse. Buck said this was possibly the worst defeat in Cowboys history and Aikman was questioning the clock management and play calling, but neither commented negatively about Romo make some bad throws late in the game.
He needs to grow up and control himself, but he played a hell of a game for them and was understandably pissed. He and DeMarco Murray were the reasons they were winning and then Romo took over. It's not like he was freaking out because he didn't get any passes or there was an accident, he took over that game and won it for them with that TD and then Romo blew it. Again, he needs to grow up, but that had to REALLY suck...basically winning the game for your team only to have your meathead QB throw it away on consecutive drives.

I guess we're different - I will never feel sympathy for a-holes who act like that - it makes me think they deserve their misery.
If he hadn't done anything to help his team win then I would wholeheartedly agree with you, that guy played his heart out though. Should he have walked off? No. Do I kind of get why he did? Yeah. I'm not excusing it, but it's an emotional game and he let his emotions get the better of him.
yeah I'm with JJSD on this. the guy is a part of a team. stay with your team, take your medicine, come back to fight again, build from the adversity don't give it more fuel. if he still doesn't realize this is the topsy turvy world of NFL football where dreams are realized and crushed every weekend in a matter of seconds.... he might be in for a lot more disappointment (I certainly hope so).
incredible talent, but it's all about him. I loved watching his fellow receiver #83 look at him like "wtf" when he threw his glass of water while sitting on the bench AFTER he had just scored a TD. Spoke with my Dad last nite after the game. Mom, who doesn't watch or care too much for football, happened to see Dez do the water smash on the bench and she asked "Is that guy 10 years old or what?"
After the Bryant TD put DAL back up by 12, Sitton was on the bench with his head down... Flynn came by and said "believe", that is all.
Bryant's catch on the end line was a great one. Leaving the field before the game is over, douchey.

Dez Bryant is a great player, but he's a ****ing prick too. I wouldn't want that dip**** anywhere near the Packers organization. All the talent in the world doesn't make up for childish behavior. Same goes for D. Jackson in Philly. Give me Cobb, Jordy, Jones and Boykin any day.

Cowboys WR Dez Bryant told reporters he left field early Sunday so no one would see him cry.
Jason Witten, a HOF TE, has sat through a LOT of games that Romo choked away. I don't know of him ever making the whole thing about himself by leaving with that much time on the clock. The poor guy will probably only have one playoff win in his entire career barring some unforeseen miracle, yet he still stays with his club and says all the right things.
Bryant's a supremely talented player, but what good does that do a team when you have to take his other bullsh!t with it? The Judge is right on the money here. He's the quintessential Jerruh player. Dez Bryant perfectly encapsulates JJ's failed vision for building a team.
BTW, I wonder if Dez's mother was a prostitute?

I'm sure Jason Witten has felt like walking out on Tony Romo or that D many times, but of course he doesn't because he's much more mature and in control. Again I'm not excusing it, but I would probably feel like walking out too after seeing that kind of a choke job. I don't know, yeah he's a crybaby, but I have some sympathy for him. I think about all those Favre choke jobs...to see a hard fought game come down to the poor decision making of 1 guy. It sucks.

You act like DB and you might put up some stats and Pro bowls but before you get the grand prize Lombardi in the case the owners daughter ends up pregnant, the loser is a bum on the street and the money is gone from the till (I've seen it hundreds of times in the NFL)

Grave Digger mentioned Favre; if there were ever players that had a reason to walk out on their team, these guys had it, many a time! But can anybody imagine someone like Driver pitching a little girl fit and walking out on his team?
If teams in the NFL really cared about their players as much as they want us to believe, they would fine Bryant that game check, plus suspend him for the next game as well. It's clear he's out of control; he's demonstarted it all season.

He needs some mental health intervention, the guy is a walking time bomb. I thought he was going to get a 15 yard penalty at one point in the game for arguing a call. I do have to say it was one of the only times I've seen him play when the DBs were not jawing with him after every play. I think that is a positive reflection on our guys.
