front l-r Bill Munson Fran Tarkenton, Don Meredith, John Brodie, Sonny Jurgenson, YA Tittle
back l-r Babe Parili(?), no clue, no clue, Sid Luckman(?), Bart Starr, Johnny Unitas, Norm Snead, Zeke Bratkowski?!
Also name the starting bowlers in the front row.
I knew 8 and guessed Bratkowski even though I had no clue he'd ever played for the Rams. 3 were fairly famous but I couldn't put a face with their names. One name I'd simply heard of and one complete unknown.
Four of these guys had their greater success with teams other than the ones shown here including two who swapped teams.
Great Pic.
back row, Milt Plum-CLE, Bobby Layne-PIT, Sam Etcheverry-STL, Bill Wade-CHI, Bart Starr-GBP, Johnny Unitas-BAL, Norm Snead-WAS, Zeke Bratkowski-LAR
front row, Jim Ninowski-DET, Fran Tarkenton-MIN, Don Meredith-DAL, John Brodie-SFO, Sonny Jurgensen-PHI, Y.A. Tittle-NYG.
Unitas is never gonna make it in the NFL with the slow release.
I bet Mike Sherman got a chub looking at that front row of shovel passes, aka laterals.
That's too damn funny! Here's my bobblehead room:
.....I wonder if the picture you posted was colorized? I'd only ever seen in black and white----now I want it in color! Mine is also a different "shot"
wasnt that pic on the cover of sports illustrated ?
BK - I'm fairly certain it was colorized. I've only seen it in B/W and didn't you post this previously? After seeing this last year or whenever, I went about figuring out who each was. Etcheverry was the tough one and only fell into place after everyone else had been ID'd. I also had to look up Bratkowski as I forgot he played with the Rams after CHI. For some reason I had it in my head he went from CHI to GBP. Knew it was him, but was unsure of the team in '61 - the B/W pic made it tough.
Hungry...yeah, I posted some time ago.I'd be cheating if I answered the names-----I have the list somewhere I think if you all give up. Bandit, picture was originally in Life Magazine.
How many Hall of Famers? 6? I never get tired of seeing that when I walk into the room. We tend to forget that Bratkowski had quite a career before being Bart's back-up.
And just how was Unitas a Hall of Famer with such a slow release?
thanks Blair Kiel
Fun photo and even though I didn't know them all, it really was quite a collection of great QBs! Thanks!
If you stare at the couch for 40 seconds you see Brett Favre,
Yup, I also saw many of his interceptions by those guys running in lines right to the ball.
Chilli, what's the beverage du jour?
Vodka pomegranate. Might end up moving to bourbon rocks. Although beer sounds really appealing tonight. Regardless, it's a good evening.
If you stare at the couch for 40 seconds you see Brett Favre,
Strange.
When I stare at the couch and think about Brent , I see red!
That's outstanding.
Moving furniture around to make a joke is hard on the back!
Who knew your personal trainer and your interior decorator were the same person?
Red leather's a sound choice. Can't see wine spills!
You know, it was.
On weekends when I'm banished to the room to watch football, I'm scared as crap one day I'm gonna Cabernet the new cloth couch.
And JJSD....do you think that fabric is available for throw pillows?
Yes, but you'll have to get it off of him first. Shine your nipples on him - who can resist that?
Keel...You know how I know that your gay
Pray tell.
you're
Going back before his birth, there are no pictures of a younger looking YA Tittle.
Cool looking room, BK.
I always remembered the Eagles trading Jurgenson straight up for Norm Snead.
Could Sonny ever throw a football!
back row, Milt Plum-CLE, Bobby Layne-PIT, Sam Etcheverry-STL, Bill Wade-CHI, Bart Starr-GBP, Johnny Unitas-BAL, Norm Snead-WAS, Zeke Bratkowski-LAR
front row, Jim Ninowski-DET, Fran Tarkenton-MIN, Don Meredith-DAL, John Brodie-SFO, Sonny Jurgensen-PHI, Y.A. Tittle-NYG.
That is right. But I don't know why they would put Don Meredith in there for Dallas instead of Eddie LeBaron who started the first 10 games in 1961. Meredith started the last four. I guess my assumption was that the picture was taken before or early in the season. It must have been taken late in the season.
