I can't wait for Sunday, and living in detwat, I'm even more pumped than usual. I keep rereading the same stuff about the game and needed a little distraction.  So, here is the question:  What one (1) previous Packer from the modern era would you want right now on this current Packer team?  To make it a little more difficult/interesting, I'm taking Reggie White off the table.

What say you?????

How about Tim Lewis before the neck injury? Jermichael Finley in his heyday season? EddieLee/Gerry (they are one IMO)? Desmond Howard for the return game? Rich Wingo for his neck brace?

So are you just reciting names from a list of the 80's roster or did you actually watch any of the games they played in?  Why don't you just throw Darrell Thompson in there while you're at it.

Good question.  While a secondary with Woodson would be nice, I'd go Reggie.  Third down pass rush would be Reggie and Daniels as down linemen, CMIII and Perry off the edge, rotating in Peppers.  That's pretty intimidating on paper.

If I went offense, I'd want Sterling Sharpe.  So underrated by the national media b/c his career was cut short, but he was arguably the best WR in football in the early 90's.  Sharpe and Adams on the outside, Nelson in the slot, Cook at TE, and Monty in the backfield would be tough to stop.  And you could really have some fun moving Cobb around.

And this is coming from a fan since 1990.  Maybe Herb Adderley and Don Hutson were better, but I couldn't tell you first hand.

I remember Tim Lewis getting hurt vs the Bears in college (at UW-Eau Claire) during a Thursday night game on TNT. Yes, TNT had Thursday night games once upon a time.

Jermichael was the aughts.

Desmond was the 90s.

Loved the combo of Eddie Lee and Gerry despite Gerry's fumbles. Some say Eddie Lee 'coulda been a playa' if he didn't have the knee injury. I also believe they both once rushed for 100 yards each at the ol' Met vs. the Vikes.

Rich Wingo was on the cover of the 1980 media guide I do believe and he wore one of the those cool neck braces that went away for some reason. I remember him as a stud and fan favorite but injuries must have derailed him.

Take that Mr. Man!

So you couldn't do all that research before suggesting Ivery and Ellis were the same guy?  Weak.
