1. Can you hire someone to teach your defense how to tackle and wrap up a player?

2. You have a good QB. ever think about using him instead of running up the middle when it hasn't worked all game?

3. With 12 minutes left in the game, 3 additional points would have looked good.

4. Please play Cox more.

1. Hilarious that you think the best run franchise in the NFL doesn't sress/teach tackling.

2. From what I saw they had success running between the tackles.

3. Agreed

4. IC thinks you're creepy.

On #3, MLF addressed that in his presser.  Possessions were scarce, they only had 4 possessions before that drive, and even if they kicked a FG, if the Bears went down and also got a FG they would have still needed a TD to win.  He didn't know if there would be enough time for all of that.

And they were in position right then to get that TD, a position they might not be in later, and if they failed it meant the Bears had to start at the 1 yard line instead of the 30, making the Bears travel at least 70 yards before they could even try a FG, and with a stop it means the Packers would have good field position.

In reality he made a really good call  given the situation.  It just didn't work out on that play.

Can someone explain this chart for those that struggle to find its meaning.  Not me, per se, just those less educated.

Thanking for a "friend".

The nerds love the data his teams generate. It's actually real simple. His teams outperform the calculated win probability. To understand win probability you can read this easy explainer on how they process their data or watch this video:

(I don't have semblance of a clue either, just seemed like it's a lot better to be listed with the coaches on the left than the right. )

Pretty good company.

The correlation with their main QBs is amazing. Especially considering how many of these top guys looked without a future HOFer (or Pro Bowl level guy) under center (BB without Brady, Mike Martz without Warner, etc.). You could argue that part of the reason the QBs were good is that these coaches were good at developing them.

Even having a decent veteran (non-HOFer) like Palmer, Pennington, or Testaverde can make you look much better as a coach.

Not surprising, but if you don't find a competent QB you will fail as a head coach.

==================

Tony Dungy - Peyton Manning

Bruce Arians - Kurt Warner, Carson Palmer, Tom Brady

MLF- Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love

BB- Tom Brady

Mike Tomlin - Roethlisberger

Chuck Pagano - Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck

Sean Payton - Drew Brees

Pete Carroll - Russell Wilson

Mike Martz - Kurt Warner

Andy Reid - Patrick Mahomes, Donavan McNabb, Michael Vick

=====================

Dennis Allen - 1 year of washed up Carson Palmer, Terrell Pryor, Derek Carr, Andy Dalton, Jameis Winston

Dan Reeves - pre-1999 was a very good coach (Elway), post-1999 (Chris Chandler for most of it with one year of healthy Michael Vick)

Romeo Crennel - Matt Cassell, Brady Quinn, Charlie Frye

Jim Schwartz - terrible even with Matt Stafford as a starter (21-34 record) but 8-17 without him

Eric Mangini - Chad Pennington (decent record), Kellen Clemens, Brady Quinn, Colt McCoy, Seneca Wallace, NY Jets version of Favre

Doug Marrone - EJ Manuel, Kyle Orton, Blake Bortles, Gardner Minshaw,

Mike Mularkey - looked decent with Drew Bledsoe in first year as HC, but then Kelly Holcombe, JP Losman, Chad Henne, Blaine Gabbert,

Jay Gruden - Kirk Cousins (looked decent with him until Synder drove him off and with pre-broken leg Alex Smith) then Dwyane Haskins, Case Keenum, Marcus Mariotta,

Tony Sparano - looked good in first year with Pennington, then Chad Henne and Matt Moore

Herm Edwards - Looked decent with Jets early (Testaverde and Pennington), but then Damon Huard, post-injury Trent Greene, Brodie Coyle, Tyler Thigpen

Pretty good company.

This can't be right. I've been told many times that MLF is a beta or a cuck or too passive or too aggressive or is worried too much about his eyebrows or...

To me this list looks like guys that had or have their franchise QB vs guys that didn't or don't.
