Look, I was as disappointed as anyone here Sunday night, but I had the same feeling in 2010 after that embarassing loss in Detroit to those thugs. Then we faced the Giants and HAD to win to stay alive for the playoffs as a wild card.

Our situation is not as dire this year, and I have to hope that MM will have learned his lessons and will come up with an effective game plan going forward to hide the limitations that we, like all NFL teams, have.

I just don't think the season is lost. I think we can still win the division (beating the Bears will be the key) and once we're in the playoffs anything can happen.

We stomped the Texans worse and they are still regarded as one of the top teams in the leagues. The Packers had a bad night and the Giants were healthy and motivated. The Giants had been getting dogged recently and they are a team, like the Packers, that play great football when they have a chip on their shoulder. They are a scary team when they are motivated. Definitely a team I don't want to meat in the playoffs. The Packers just walked into a hornets nest and couldn't get themselves motivated or swing the momentum to get going. Much like after the Colts loss, I'm not worried. This is a good team that just hit a bump.
IF there is one year where no 1 team is standing out above the rest, it's this one. All the top teams have had bad games. Ravens got destroyed by the Texans, Giants got destroyed by the Bengals, Niners and Packers got destroyed by the Giants, etc

3 straight divisional games. Everything is still there for GB and they control their own destiny. Can't ask for much more at this stage in the season
I'm optimistic about BJ Raji. He's looked fantastic since being back from his ankle injury. He had 5 hurries against the Giants. He's looking more and more like his 2010 self in terms of pass rush.

I've noticed him playing a lot more DE34 rather than the usual NT position. Whatever he's been doing has been working, the past two weeks he has been very good.

I'm also optimistic that Casey Hayward will become one of the finest CB's in the game in the next few years. Absolute steal by TT.

House has also looked good. Though, I'm a bit confused about House starting over Hayward against the Giants.

Just a guess but I think House was in there for the base and Casey had a bunch of down and distance subpackage stuff they never had a chance to get to because they couldn't win the early downs and get out of base. Once the Giants had the big lead it made it even harder to get him in. I think House's playing time was an investment in his future. He's their best press guy and his assignment in the future is the big power guys and while he had some rough spots they now have a ton of tape to help him correct and get better. I think Casey is just a natural and best in the slot. House has the best chance to improve with extra snaps. Easily Houses's biggest start so far. Lessons learned are going to help later in the year. Without looking at the numbers on the season I'd imagine he's way behind on snaps and they want to get him as prepared as possible before the playoffs. He's going to be important. I'm sure part of the gameplan was testing the young guys out for future roles. Defense is still developing. Coaches are still learning what the young guys can do in a game. It's something that just can't be simulated during practice.

..."dress rehearsals" are over...they need to play our best players this Sunday. With CM & CW out, Heyward is our best playmaker, they need to have him on the field.
