10 points may be insurmountable for ND tonite.
Penn St. Looking powerful right now. 10-0 late in 2nd quarter 2:18 to go
Penn State taking it to the Irish.

There have been 61 players from Notre Dame that played for Green Bay.
Some players of note are Aaron Taylor, Craig Hentrich, and Mike McCoy.
Conversely, only 25 players have come from Penn State, the majority of them since the 1980's.
Notable names are Dave Robinson, Rasheed Walker, Marco Rivera, and Bhawoh Jue.

Good game.
Congrats to the Irish.

P$U QB threw an INT with the score tied. Game over. What's to unpack?
Congrats Irish.
Let's see what happens with O$U vs. Texa$
Havenāt rooted for Notre Dame for decades but this is a fun group to cheer for. Big fan of Marcus Freeman.

He is an idiot. Arrogant too. Nice to see his successor outshining him in all ways that count.
What's really Interesting.....
Seeds 1-4 all eliminated and 5, 6, 7, 8 left for the final four.
The playoffs is definitely the way to go
Damn, I'm late to the party. DVR'd game and just finished. What a freaking great game! I hope tomorrow isn't a blowout. So many have been. Isn't it funny that none of these teams would be playing in the older formats? Seeds 1-4 I mean.

Never have and never will I root for ND, but I will give them props that was a great game.

Notre Dame has a huge advantage in terms of getting to the playoff versus teams in the SEC and Big 10. The teams in those conferences play 4-5 games every year they could easily lose against teams with big NIL budgets. At some level, through no fault of their own, Notre Dame's regular season schedule was easy this year. Some of their toughest games historically every year were against Florida State and USC, which both had down years. They did play Texas A and M (who should be good), but they were also down. Notre Dame no longer plays Michigan.
Ironically, their only loss was to a team they should blow out (Northern Illinois). But, in recent years, they usually start the year knowing they are going to get 5 wins. They should beat the two mid-majors they typically schedule (Miami, OH and Northern Illinois this year), the two service academies (Army and Navy), and Stanford hasn't been good since Harbaugh left. If they go 5-2 against the rest of their schedule, they'll probably make the playoff and they don't have to worry about getting a loss in a conference championship game to knock them out of the picture.
All of this to say is that Brian Kelly really looks like an idiot for saying he left for LSU because he wanted to compete for national titles. LSU (and the other SEC teams) has to deal with playing about 5 teams with huge NIL budgets that fire coaches if they don't win at least 10 games every years. Notre Dame has the easiest path to a playoff.
The Penn State win was easily their best win.
In the first playoff game, Notre Dame got to play Indiana who had a great year but was a total fluke since they played 10 games against mediocre to crappy teams (10 of their wins were against mid-majors or Big 10 teams that lost at least 6 games). Their 11th was against a 5-loss Michigan team. The only good team they played all year was OSU and they got stomped. In the second playoff game, they got to play Georgia without their starting QB.
I think the real title game is Texas-Ohio State tonight. Assuming no major injuries, I think either of those teams beats Notre Dame easily. And I think Ohio State will be the one to do it.
ND beat, 6 seed Penn St, 2 seed Georgia, 10 seed Indiana, #19 Army, #24 Navy, #15 Louisville, #20 TX A&M...
I look forward to ND v TX.
Army/Navy rankings are suspect to say the least. They certainly had good years but where do they finish in a good conference.

Army and Navy would not be 500 in the Big 10.
How would Northern Illinois do?
No overtime in The Cotton Bowl now.
