I know we all bagged on Stave, but when it counted he really stepped up. What a job by Joel.
Yes he did a good job late. He needs to continue throwing to the TE/FB in the middle of the field. His throws to the corner of the EZ suck ass.
Yup, Joel made the plays when it counted. Nice job.
I remember there was a time, a long time ago, when Wisconsin used to win bowl games. I wonder what that was like?
Now do you remember? LOL
Iowacheese?
Bueller?
I think the browneyes play tomorrow?
It was awfully fun watching Melvin Gordon. Good luck young man.
Iowa in Jax tomorrow.
Free coconut shrimp for everybody!!!!!
I went offline for the second half but man, that was a great game. Probably one of the best in a long time. Stave did make the throws at the end, but man he is not a good QB overall. And I did NOT get the play calling...keep running the damn ball. They couldn't stop Gordon or Clement.
But a great win...nice to finally win a bowl game again!
I have to think that any decent high school QB would love to come to Wisconsin. Great line, great RBs, and they will have opportunities to throw.
Free coconut shrimp for everybody!!!!!
Better yet, don't go to schitty chain restaurants.
Surf and turf at my house..brats and bullheads. Happy New Year, Roll Tide!
Hows that to tie it together Fondoo?
Pick yer poison
From SI:
The SECβs reputation as the best conference in football has taken a major hit this post season. The league is currently 4-4 overall in bowl games. After Wisconsinβs win over Auburn, ranked SEC teams are 1-4 this postseason, while teams hailing from the vaunted SEC West are 2-4.
The SEC has also lost its biggest bowl games of the season thus far in its New Yearβs Six matchups. TCU kicked Ole Miss out of the building Wednesday in the Chick-fl-A Peach Bowl with a 42-3 rout before Georgia Tech topped Mississippi State 49-34 in the Orange Bowl. Top-ranked Alabama still must tango with Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl on Thursday, but the SEC is hardly looking as dominant in December as it did during the regular season.
Awesome!
Great game to watch.
Stave is maddening. He's a big guy with a good arm, but The only pass he can consistently complete is when the receiver sits down in a zone and stays stationary. He completed a couple of outs, but other than that it was curl routes and WR screens. He has a terrible time leading receivers. He tends to throw the ball to where the receiver is when he releases, not where he's going to be. Even the TD to Clement was thrown behind him. The int. off Ericksons hands should have been caught, but it was a bit in front of him and leading him right into a big hit from the safety.

Go Urb
Urb.
I don't appreciate your tone, mister.
Stave either needs significantly step up his game or we need a new player under center (side note, I said that with Stave last year, was excited by McEvoy, only to learn that we could, in fact, do worse).
Oline, running back, defense should be fine. Need a punter and a QB, with some serious upgrades at WR.
Nice.
F'em Bucky
Loved the comment by Barry's grandson......"we are fine with you coaching, be nice to have some swag on the sideline". Says a lot IMO.
that guy makes 64K a year
I guess I gotta go to Outback tomorrow night, now.
The sour note is that I really don't like shrimp and absolutely love blooming onions.....stupid SEC gets all the best free food (though they actually don't get it)
Here's the thing I love about Alvarezzzzzzz. When he sees a good coach or leader, he attacks them via multiple angles he doesn't just chase one coach away, he chases away the replacement as well. I think the Alvarezzzzzzzzzzz/Christ duo are going to have a .500 run in $connie.
You wish I O W A could be that good.
Sincerely,
Iowa Chokeyes
Who's playing in the Golden Corral Bowl?
Al is hosting trivia at halftime
The Outback Sack makes 64k?
If not for Stave's inconsistent play the Badgers win this one by double digits. Game should not have been this close.
Good luck to Gordon at the next level. He is a tremendous talent and I'll be interested to see what he does at the next level. The 25 yard TD in particular was a thing of beauty
Pretty unusual to win the game and lose the turnover battle 3-0. Stave made the throws at the end but his (poor) play is why the team was in that position to begin with. Melvin Gordon and Barry Alvarez won the game for Bucky.
