Some people complained how slow today went waiting for the 3:30 kickoff to come, I think I will sleep until Noon on Saturday so it shortens the wait for the 7:00 kick off.

It probably has more to do with favoring the #1 seeded Falcons. If they win Saturday, they'll gain an extra day of rest over their next opponent.

I just deleted my post saying the same thing when I realized the Pats play Sunday. In this theory, both #1s would get the extra day.
It's interesting that the path for the Packers could mean playing against all teams they've already played. At Philly, at Atl, at the Bears. Packers played, or beat, all those teams tough and should have plenty of confidence.

not sure why we dont get teh Sunday game?

Seahawks get 8 days and we get 6?

NFC contests should be switched IMO to give all teams equal time rest

They had slotted these going back last week, ATL night game Saturday, Pittsburgh early game Saturday, Bears early Sunday and NE late Sunday. Just going with whatever ratings they think would be the best I guess.

Actually, it's more with guessing who will have the higher ratings. Fox and the NFL thought Dallas was going to play in Minnesota in the divisional round last year (they guessed correctly), which is why #2 seed Minnesota got the late game Sunday, which typically is a better time for ratings.

Don't forget maybe another shot at the Jets....wouldn't that be something!
I don't think they suffered any significant injuries in this game with the exception of Driver limping around a little bit.

From a fan standpoint, I'd rather they play on Saturday. It's brutal to have to sit through the entire weekend waiting for your team to play later on Sunday afternoon.
Here's an interesting scenario, very similar to the Cards run in 2008 when they had the worst record in the playoffs, hosted the WC game, went to Carolina and won, and as the #4 seed hosted the Eagles: If the #4 seed Seahawks beat the #2 seed Bears (the Seahawks already beat the Bears in week 6 in Chicago) and the #5 seed Pack beats #1 seed Atlanta (you guys played them tough in Atlanta), as the #4 seed the Hawks would host the Pack in the NFC championship game in Seattle.
As much as we all hate the Bears I just can't see them losing to Seattle. I think we'll see something similar to Arizona last year after beating Green Bay. The shot their wad playing the Packers and got destroyed by the Saints. I think the same thing happens this year with the Seahawks. Figure soemthing along the lines of 24-7 Bears.
I was thinking that the Bears win in a laugher, but I thought about it more closely. Both teams have 7 wins against starting NFL quarterbacks. Both teams have lost by 20+ at home this year. The offenses are almost dead even with Seattle actually ranking two spots ahead of the Bears at 28. Both teams relied on a Top-10 return game to stay in games with each team earning 3 return TDs on the year.

You could argue neither team really deserves to be here. If the Calvin Johnson TD isn't overturned on the worst call of the year, the Bears are sitting at home for the playoffs with NY taking the tiebreaker.

The difference of course is that the Bears may be the most improved team in the league since Week 1 and the D's aren't even comparable. They absolutely should win this game, but I wouldn't rule anything out.

The Bears and the Seahawks. Wow.

That's a lot of suck right there.

"There is no way the Seahawks deserve to be there. They are an 8-9 team and the NFL should have kept them out of the playoffs, and then we'd have played the Giants or Buc and we would still be playing."

Drew Brees
Having played ATL during the season will definitely benefit the Packers, even though they lost. There was a lot of talk about ATL going into that game and you never know how a team is going to deal with an unknown opponent until they line em up. GB should have a good sense of what's coming and that will help their game planning immensely.

In the 1982 playoffs, the Redskins fans were all chanting "We Want Dallas" in the final minutes of their divisional round victory over the Vikings. The Cowboys played our Packers the very next day in Green Bay to determine who was going to Washington for the NFC Championship. As a fan of the Packers here in 2011, I say I WANT CHICAGO! I've never wanted a game more than a NFC Championship matchup against the Bears, it would be THE defining game in our rivalry with that rotten franchise.

This is my early nominee for "X4 Post of the Year." (Of course, it is only January 10th Smiler.)

I guess I haven't been paying much attention... Are you always a "doom and gloom" type of guy or is this a cool new trait of yours?
