It seems to me like they're looking to fix Eli.  He's going to be under a lot of pressure to make that happen.  If he does it he might have a good shot at the head coach job when Coughlin retires.  If he doesn't it can get real ugly, real quick.  Reese is already under a lot of scrutiny in the media here.  Hiring a guy who's never done it before put's both of them on a short leash for criticism.

Let the rumors begin:

It seems that Ben McAdoo is looking to make the Packers East in the Big Apple. It was already reported that McAdoo is going to make a play for Andrew Quarless during free agency and now it also seems like McAdoo wants to add James Starks to the Giants roster:

The first report surfaced just a couple of days after McAdoo accepted the offensive coordinator’s position with the New York Giants. That report stated that the Giants would go after Packers tight end Andrew Quarless. Only a couple of days later, it was reported that the Giants may also show an interest in free agent running back James Starks, who had a successful season backing up rookie Eddie Lacy, though he did miss a couple of games because of a leg injury.

The worrying part is that Starks makes sense for the Giants. The team has little running back depth behind Andre Brown and David Wilson just had neck surgery and his NFL future is in doubt. Meanwhile, the Packers could definitely use Starks as a change of pace guy. Eddie Lacy is great but having a solid second string running back like Starks is very valuable for the dual purposes of giving Lacy rest during games and having insurance in case Lacy gets injured.

We called out, "I'm McAdoooooooooooooo" after hitting one in ten shots.

I'd like Starks to stick around, but DeJuan Harris is still here. I wouldn't lose much sleep if he departed.

Quarless needs to stay. He really started coming into his own after Finley (and Rodgers) went down. I don't think it would take a whole lot to keep him here, either. Draft another TE, or see if Bostick continues to develop, and I think the TE situation is looking reasonably decent.

It's a good hire for the Giants, IMO, and wish McAdoo the best. Except for when we play them, of course.

Packers coaches should do well and move up. It's the sign of a solid organization, and I'm confident they are well-prepared, so I agree with you, Boris.

I don't see this as adding any creedence to the 'sinking ship' theory floating around in the Coach Greene thread.

I remember seeing him play at the "Aud" in Buffalo. "That's 2 for McAdooooooooooooooo!"

McAdoo is the OC not the GM so he wont be signing or bringing anybody in. He may give input to their GM on Starks and Quarless, but he wont be the decision maker.

I think their GM has bigger fish to get with his own FA's and draft picks with whatever CAP space they have.
